JS - if you think JOG is a good investment and are in it for the long haul, why worry about today's SP, - but if you think there are better opportunities elsewhere as you claim, why are you still holding JOG ?
If you're looking to buy in and out JOG , alternating with another share then that is trading - and why should anyone complain that trading can be frustrating - it goes with the territory.
Agreed Einbert - I bought some more when I read that bit
" PANR and ORCA are both seem to be doing well " says ST
PANR is in fact 17.2% down over the month - I wonder what doing badly would look like.
Pass .
Buying opportunity for you JS.
Of course Walter Mitty.
Then sell up JamesSimon, if your shredded nerves just cant take any more.
Alsoppc, thanks for pointing out 'refurbishment' likely to be less time consuming than 'decommisioning'
I agree with you regarding Benitz. - although announcements are far and few between, as far as I am aware, so far, anything promised/forecast to happen always has happened. If there were a single exception to this then long periods
of 'radio silence' would be grounds for great concern - but has there been such an exception ? - not that I am aware - how about those of you on this board who are unhappy with Benitz's lack of running commentary The only thing to be affected is the SP but why should that matter to those holders who are in it for the long haul - as Einbert pointed out a couple of weeks back when JOG achieves the criteria/milestones for a ' mature investment' the institutions will then have a way of assessing it that fits in with assessment methods - and an SP rise has every chance of occuring. Tit-bits of info from Benitz without a fuller definite picture ( that he might not have himself ) could just spawn more questions and the wobbles for the SP - sorry, volatility.
Under Gov.uk there is a Dana Petroleum plan for decommissioning Western Isles which shows the execution running to
2027/H2
Isn't that incompatible with JOG's forecast of first oil in 2026/H1 ?
Surprising no reaction on this board to Rachel Reeves statements at at Labour Part Conference.about taxing energy companies
No good pretending Rachel Reeves does not exist - look back on what she said early 2023 about taxing energy companies
Re Cornish - " We have to remember that AB has to be careful until there is information to give until he is in a position to make an RNS " - Absolutely
We don't want AB feeling obliged to prematurely throw a couple of 'morsels ' into the public arena that then leave further unanswered questions - that's the way to further SP deterioration
Thanks Jim33 - confirms what was reasonable to assume.
Einbert, as I was grateful for your reply to me a few days back now - " After these announcements JOG will be ‘MATURE’ ( my capitals) as an investment opportunity and institutions and others would be able to make their own risk assessment and discount the expected value at startup to present day accordingly."
I got comfort from your words and was able to get at least 4 hours sleep per night again.
Seriously, isn't it as you point out, just not a mature investment yet and present volatility, highs followed by disappointing falls not worth thinking about ?
Re the non-announcement , long delayed - of FPSO submitted proposals, wasn't this delay supposed to be due to the bureaucracy involved in getting Authorities approval of the decommissioning of the intended vessel by the previous owner, - which for some reason ( protocol ?) prevented announcement on future intended use.
If that is the case, I'm still OK with Benitz taciturn style - why ramp the situation when hard numbers as yet would be only 'provisional'.
Of course the alternative is that the silence means there are major major problems with JOG's plans - does anybody think that ?
Also Einbert, thank you for highlighting my overlooking £34/£43 predictions for SP.
Just ran them thru my little Casio calculator , and had to take one of my wife's tablets and go and have a lie down.
Thank you for the explanation Einbert
Getting ahead of myself I know but the various SP predictions of £7+ , £10, etc - at what time point are these predicted for ?
The time of max confidence (but no profits) in JOG stock will surely be at successful FID ( 2024 H2 ?)
After that wont the SP just meander sideways until oil profits start in 2026 before the SP can be expected to rise further ?
Heart warming advance today despite the fact oil prices fell today.
Get a life JS
Desertsands - your high-minded statement is totally unfair to DU who has at all times posted in a very knowledgeable
consistent, responsible and reasonable manner - the opposite is true of the other party
