So I repeat CP where oh where in that statement does it day that "they were draining fluids"? The fact is that it doesn't....

It simply says that they do NOT need approvals to do so. The rest you are just guessing..... I don't mind you guessing CP but please don't try and pass it off as fact, because it certainly isn't a "fact". So they have never said that they are draining fluids. Okay, so now I am satisfied that I didn't miss it good because I didn't think so.

Yes we have been told that things are "progressing" which I am sure they are BUT the last official statement on the work being carried out was in December and then at the EGM

1) 10th December: The well is undergoing further testing and analysis.

2) 4th January: Company has engaged in low cost remediation of producing well to attempt restart of production

What "engaged" is I do not know and moreover CP nor do you. You ask, "So you don't think they are doing anything then, just turned the well valve on and then turned if off again?" Actually no I don't think they are doing nothing but do I think they are "draining fluid" or "perforating"? No, actually I do not; not yet. There was certainly no suggestion at the EGM that they expected to be doing so anytime soon. You may remember my telling you that it took Schlumberger 3 months to get the necessary expertise and equipment into Tanzania from Angola to sort out the valve.

So it is perfectly possible that the well is STILL undergoing "further testing and analysis" and I am pretty sure that if they were involved in anything more than this , or well maintenance they would have used a recent opportunity to be far more specific; it would certainly be in everyone's interest for them to do so. But they haven't; all we have heard is that things are "progressing".

Moreover and I will admit that this may be irrelevant to this particular well but dependent on the Geology and Morphology of the area trying to drain Fluids from a borehole in the "rainy" season is often problematic.

Your conclusion that "FAQ update seems well timed and as the licence is one of the F/O Conditions it is expected to arrive before March 31." is not born out by the evidence that you use to draw it.

Yes the License extension is one of the conditions precedent for the Farm-Out but the circular was released on 7th December and nowhere in that RNS does it state that the BoD believes or even expects the License Extension will be delivered by the 31st March. "reasonable assurance" is the best that they could offer

Then on the 14th January comes the statement that "The Company has been assured by relevant government authorities that the extension is forthcoming and will update the markets once formalised." But absolutely no reference to the timing or even of the 31st March backstop....

You are adding 2 and 2 and then 1 for luck. The two statements were made at different times and without any reference to each other therefore to conflate the two may be convenient isn't sound.

I did Drewky you just need to read my post again. I stated that I subscribe to JB's own explanation..... or you have to assume that his explanation is false and only there as "window dressing". I do not believe it is.

I have also explained several times in answer to your repeated questions that whilst I might once have had some sympathy with the "conspiracy" theories, you relate to, I no longer do. I repeat that now just for clarity; the reason for the delays since the May 2017 AGM has nothing to do with any conspiracy between the TPDC, the Zubairs, the AEX BoD or any combination thereof but purely due to the intransigence and indecision of the Tanzanian authorities. Which unfortunately does not appear to have changed materially, unless you take the Orca developments as a watershed (which I sincerely hope and believe it does). It is this that might speed developments on the license extension and Development License but because of that I do not believe that the EGM developments have any bearing or any significance on the timing of the License approval or vise versa. It is that simple.

But yes Drewky, if your earlier post was meant to be a question and not a statement I apologise, I evidently misread it.

So yes I will willingly retract my "clutching at straws" dig if your post was actually meant as a question rather than an opinion because as an opinion it really doesn't hold water' in my view of course.

Anyway one and all, I will have to say goodnight for the evening as I am traveling tonight for an early morning meeting tomorrow. I just hope that I can conduct my meeting in the knowledge that our License has been extended!

So CP where did they explicitly say that " they were draining fluids". Apologies if I have missed it but I do not remember reading that anywhere - nor indeed that they are progressing with perforation. Indeed they would have had to complete the fluid draining before progressing with perforation.....

So yes we are overdue an update if either of those two things were actually true but I strongly believe that the word "progressing" leaves an awful lot unsaid; and that is not an accident in my view. There was NO suggestion at the EGM that they were even close to fluid draining or perforation so were simply "progressing" towards those two events.

So firstly Drewky I don't believe I am being antagonistic I am simply trying to offer an alternative view, pretty much as I have been doing for the last 7 or so months (and one that has been more than justified), despite the many and frequent criticisms and (totally false and unsubstantiated) accusations from many people, including you, whose opinions I was contradicting. So is this yet another example of double standards Drewky?

But, to the point. Firstly what do you mean by "bullets"? If you mean the many and various posts on this and other BB's then I am 100% sure it is "water of a ducks back" to JB and the BoD who view 90% of the posts on the boards as the idiotic ramblings of uneducated cretins (including mine :0) ). Moreover if they ever wanted to halt the "bullets" all they had to do was to "open up" to the shareholders and disclose more about the current situation (on all counts); the fact that they didn't really just proves the point that they really do not give two hoots....

But I am surprised that you need to ask the question of me when our own illustrious CEO has several times stated that the Farm-Out process is a long and complex one that they were still working on - or are you suggesting that this was only a piece of "window dressing" that hid a more deep seated explanation?

Oh and GL & CP, I may not disagree that we are still waiting Ministerial approval but if awaiting ministerial approval was the reason to delay the EGM in September and November, why then hold it in January (announced in December btw) when that Ministerial approval is still awaited?

There has long been this discussion about the EGM being dependent on the Approval or, indeed, the opposite and the Approval being contingent on the EGM vote. It would now appear to me that neither is in fact the case.

However as several have said, it is neither here nor there. The important thing is that we get the approval and move on. I just do not agree with those that say it is just around the corner - they have been saying that for months, we are still waiting and the timing is not in the BoD's control.

So what exactly is the logic behind that statement Drewky? We have now had the EGM and the positive vote but still haven't had the License Extension... So we could have had the EGM and the vote in September, October and November and it would have made no difference - we would still be awaiting the License Extension! So you are arguing that we waited until January just so the BoD could state that the License is now forthcoming?!? It has always been "forthcoming" - nothing has changed. That really is clutching at straws.

Well BG "but i pick up on these things" really well blow me down so why didn't you tell us all that the EGM wouldn't be held before the end of November even though the BoD told us that it would be...? And that was an event that they were supposedly in control of.....

Here's hoping BG but I will definitely remind you of your "boast" above when it doesn't happen. Will you still be making that claim this time next month? Or do you need longer than that?

One day, if you wait long enough, you will be proven right but you have been telling me that I have been wrong for 7 months BG but so far you are the one with egg on your face....

So far CP " the order" is a total irrelevance; it does not matter whether it is "date" order or "influence" order - NOTHING has happened for two years. One day the "order" might become relevant but only when the powers that be decide to make it so and there is little sign of that so far - despite the Farm-Out vote.

I honestly hope that all of you "glass half full " optimists will be proven right but you have all been wrong for the last seven months and now accuse me of being the one that has been wrong... selective memory?

Yes BG I did get it wrong regarding the reasons for "approvals", I still stand by the need for approvals for something (JB stated categorically that we didn't have them but didn't detail what they were needed for) and the we still haven't seen any evidence of any work being done on the water extraction or perforation BG; the difference between you (and many others) and me is I haven't been expecting any hence I wont be disappointed when it doesn't arrive over coming weeks.

As regards "forthcoming" I will repeat what I said earlier, forthcoming does not necessarily equate to imminent. My birthday is "forthcoming" but it is still months away.... I thought you would have learned by now that sometimes AEX statements leave a lot to interpretation - the difference is BG you and others choose only to read into these what you choose to read to suit your own overly optimistic agenda. I have learnt from experience not to. You will be telling me next that I was wrong to doubt that we would drill C1 by Christmas, that the EGM would not take place before the end of November, that the EGM vote would not immediately result in the License extension being approved.

So "your pessimistic outlook" is not pessimistic unless like you and many others you are expecting everything to happen within weeks. I am not and my "hold" position has been more than justified for well over 6 months. So you can believe what you like BG and I hope you are right and I am wrong but, so far, l am more than happy that my position has been proven to be "realistic" and not "pessimistic".... And as a result of the EGM I have no reason to change that view.

So please tell me BG before you start to accuse me of having got a particular fact wrong (which, by the way I was always happy to concede) just look in the mirror BG; what exactly have you got right at any point in the last 7 months?

Well PITW that assumes that the pile on the African man's desk is actually reducing but as there have been NO license extensions approved for nearly two years that pile is only getting higher..... Something has to change to get that moving and but for the recent Orca developments there has been little sign of that.

Whether they have had a recent meeting with the Tanzanian Gov't or not it does NOT necessarily mean that the License extension is any closer now than it was back in November. Why? Because our Farm Out vote is a pimple on the arse of Tanzanian politics and will have gone without any notice or impact on the decisions that are being made there by the powers that be. They have bigger fish to fry...

Agree 100% CP I would just guard against too much optimism on the timescales; be patient and we will all be rewarded. Too much hype only leads to disappointment and negativity. Patience is a virtue :0)

The more positive signs are the reported movement on Orca's increase in their gas supply to SS GPP and the recent noises by the Ministry for Energy. These might indeed give reason for optimism and herald a change in their outlook and the two year moratorium on any new O&G development in the country but that certainly has nothing whatsoever to do with our little old EGM vote back at the turn of the year...

Well if you mean me then your "memory" is failing you. I have at no time since the EGM suggested that the EGM or the vote is in anyway contingent on the License Extension or indeed vice versa - in fact I have been very clear that I believe them to be totally unrelated. Nor have I explicitly stated that AEX have been meeting with the Government in connection with the License; they have certainly done all they can through official channels and unofficial channels to get the TPDC Claim lifted and I am sure that they have been doing all they can to speed up the license process but I have not once made any comment about their meeting with the Tanzanian Gov't (though they may well have done).

What I did say was that the BoD have been expecting the License back in the Summer, September, October, November and December but that therefore they would not speculate when we might reasonably expect. it.

Therefore I myself do not believe that these are reasons to expect delivery of the License Extension anytime soon - quite the contrary. I have consistently argued the opposite and still do; the fact that we have not yet seen that License already seems to suggest I may have been right; though I would accept that it is early days yet. Another week or so though and I think the case will have been made.

Where we do agree is that I do believe we will get there eventually and so everyday that passes means we are closer to that day; unlike you though I still think we have a little while yet to wait. And just because the BoD may (or may not) have had a meeting with the Tanzanian Energy Minister this week or any other week does not necessarily mean that the approval is "imminent". "Forthcoming" does not necessarily equate to "imminent".....

I am more than happy to sit and wait with my "HOLD" position intact....
