Just to point out that 239,868 shares at £1.99 = £477.34k and not £364.60k - therefore I would be very confident that the actual strike price is the referenced £1.52. That is the trade price given on a couple of websites that I use.

That might also mean that it was not a Buy but in fact a Sell.....

FWIW FJ I do not think we will be waiting until January / February for the Farm Out approval. But I do not think we will get it until November at the earliest and with December (long Christmas break for Govt) following on soon afterwards it has to be a possibility.

If you look back at my posts over recent months you would find all the answers to the "questions" you raise FJ; I am fully invested here, I do not want more as I am spreading my risk elsewhere. I am comfortable with my holding and do not "need" or desire to "hedge". I do not think the sp will go to 0.40 or below etc, etc.

Anyway GL, whilst I agree in part with your logic, I am not convinced that there is any political advantage to be gained in granting approval before the election; no Tanzanian citizens will benefit for a long time. Indeed the incumbent government may conclude that they give an advantage to the opposition by granting approval before the election as they would be the ones to be seen to oversee delivery of the project when the current administration totally failed to do so. Indeed as I have suggested before it may not be so hollow a threat; we risk several years of stagnation of Magafuli is ousted whilst the new administration take their turn at the Brown Envelope "trough"....

Anyway GL, I do sincerely hope you are right. Though I fear that too many years as an AEX shareholder and Tanzanian spectator have eroded any sense of excitement or optimism only to be replaced with a healthy dose of cynicism

Whilst the articles relates specifically to the LNG "debate" it highlights that the Government's focus is on the Election. Do you really think that the Govt would prioritise the Election over the LNG project but the AEX/ APT Farm Out over the Election?

As you well know Frank people are missing opportunities by simply sitting on their hands. If you believe that it will be 1, 2 or even 3 months before we are likely to get farm-out approval then why not switch into something else in the meantime?

A risky business I grant you but maybe some believe it is a risk worth taking.

It is very easy Tanzania they paid $5 million dollars and a large line of credit on a huge amount of gas that will (should) repay their investment many 100's of times over the coming decade. That is a very good risk - reward ratio. Moreover $35m of that $40m you discuss is hypothecated to cover the costs. And if they don't get approval, if they don't get their 50%, they don't pay it and AEX owe them $5m that is likely send AEX into administration.

They have the deck totally stacked in their favour.

I don't think so peking after all the only PSA that AEX has got relates to Kiliwani and that is currently producing jack ****, so who cares? The real deal is Ntorya and we don't have a PSA on that yet so it can hardly be affected. Ntorya will be one of, if not the, first PSAs completed since the PSA review so should be future proofed. I can only hope that most of us are still alive to see it!!

I think a WEN / AEX tie up would have been far more likely whilst AEX was still the operator of the Ntorya License. If WEN want to be in "Exploration" then it is more appropriate to join with an operator methinks. Does Kiliwani count? Mothballed and tiny? Maybe but not much of a prize....
