Of course this could drop on news.
It could also rise on news.
It all depends on what the markets are expecting, and how close to guidance the situation is and RR's course of action going forward.
The SP has risen almost 14% in the past 2 weeks and Casa has been calling '100p -200p' for a lot longer than that.
The FTSE index has risen less than 1.5% in the same timeframe.
Perhaps the market is more favourable towards the news expected than the doom and gloom seen in the media?
I am sure there will be questions and uncertainties regarding any figures released, but the company have RNS'd they are looking at various scenarios and whichever options chosen, if any, the market will respond accordingly.

Not expecting too many questions in the short term, ocelot, as plans seem pretty well mapped out for the coming months, particularly with SF, and there has been some decent updates from the IQ's to flesh out and clarify previous news announcements.
SF should, hopefully, progress to timetable.
Most likely we may see some IQ's around Balcombe when we get the next update there.

I posted a link to an article yesterday on this (SalivaDirect), along with some additional info from the Guardian.
There were some interesting quotes included (repeated below) that suggest the FDA are actively looking for innovative companies to come forward with their tests and that they are prepared to fast-track them in order to scale up capacity and efficiency of testing:

The assistant secretary for health and Covid-19 testing coordinator, Admiral Brett Giroir, said:
"The SalivaDirect test for rapid detection of Sars-CoV-2 is yet another testing innovation game changer that will reduce the demand for scarce testing resources. Our current national expansion of Covid-19 testing is only possible because of FDA’s technical expertise and reduction of regulatory barriers, coupled with the private sector’s ability to innovate and their high motivation to answer complex challenges posed by this pandemic".

FDA commissioner Stephen Hahn said:
"Providing this type of flexibility for processing saliva samples to test for Covid-19 infection is groundbreaking in terms of efficiency and avoiding shortages of crucial test components like reagents. Today’s authorisation is another example of the FDA working with test developers to bring the most innovative technology to market in an effort to ensure access to testing for all people in America. The FDA encourages test developers to work with the agency to create innovative, effective products to help address the Covid-19 pandemic and to increase capacity and efficiency in testing."

According to the FDA, SalivaDirect does not require a swab or collection device. A saliva sample can be collected in any sterile container. This test is also said to be unique because it does not require a separate nucleic acid extraction step.

This is the fifth test that the FDA has authorised that uses saliva as a sample for testing, eliminating the need for swabs.

Its odd that Casa only posts on days when there is an SP drop.
2 days of rises and nothing, then a post saying he/she avoided the board due to no one listening. to them.
So transapraent.
No confidence to short the share despite supposed confidence in a target SP some 20% to 60% plus lower than todays' close, and complete radio silence when the SP rose 8% plus midweek.
Still a LTH and a key holding for my portfolio (imo), Casa was filtered, but the posts are just too amusing and ignorant to ignore.

Also, 27th is still more than 10 days away. france was borderline for the number of cases to be added to the quarantine list, so plenty of time for this to drop and france to be ok again.
I wouldn't cancel anything yet.

My 14 day driving tour around spain starting on Monday though with 5 of 6 stops in cities with rising daily cases .... :-(

SP fairly stable so far today given share has gone XD and markets marginally down (albeit only circa <1%. across main Europe and UK indices)

Angus have been struggling for 18 months or so due to what looks to have been a duster in the Weald. Lots of PI's getting burnt with a near 95% SP drop from highs seen only 6 months earlier.
Change of CEO, change of strategy and they purcahsed a 50% share in an old (seemingly uncommercial) gas field for £1 in order to reconnect due to a lower cost base as a small operator.
Recent tie-ups with NG and today Shell and all starting to look good again there. Still a long way off historic highs though, but promising for LTH's,there nonetheless.

I just hold and follow Jupiter.
A bit wary of finance related stocks just now, sold my banks (HSBC and Lloyds) to invest elsewhere and have a decent position in L&G with Aviva also on my radar.

The deal was announced before lockdown, so I suppose the market could also think they are paying too much in the present climate too.
Also forgot that the stock went XD last week, so that could account for some of the drop.
Could be several factors for the disappointing SP, the deal may not be seen as a good 'fit', the big outflows compared to the likes of HL, plus the model of active management with their high fees less attractive
I have added today and happy to hold here with the dividend on offer. I see plenty of upside but will review on the next trading update

Another good news day for the genuine holders, and even the LTH's with higher averages must be feeling a little more comfortable here now with plenty of more news to come.
I know I am, and a timely doubling up of my holding yesterday too.

Currently averaging 228, so any drop equivalent of the divi from here ok for me.
Can see it holding, or even rising though if the markets in general continue the current upward trend seen over the past 7 or so trading days.
31/7 seems to have seen a bounce across most major markets. Some sustained confidence returning?

Have always maintained I was holding for SF and was going to stick with my loss holding position through to first gas, but have doubled my holding here today on the dip (sub-0.89) as I can see a better retrun here in 3-4 months than from the poor performing ftse stock I just sold to add here.
