I wonder what the EU's definition of 'rapid tests' is though, and which ones they are referrring to?
I am in France, and we came out of lockdown on Tuesday last week.
My friends' daughter decided to travel out to spend christmas with her parents knowing she would have to quarantine here, and on her return, assuming she will not be stuck here now with the latest tier 4 restrictions and possible new measures over here (this immediately screwed our long-standing christmas plans, as we can no longer adhere to the current rule of 6 in place, but that's another thing).
Anyway, she had to have a compulsory test on arrival in France, and more than 2 days later is still waiting for the result, meaning they are currently all isolating in the same property and wearing masks all the time to be safe (one parent has long-standing medical issues which does not help matters).
It is not just the UK that is struggling with accurate and timely (quick result) testing.
It may have been delayed longer than we all like, but if Al can get a resut in the next month, that would be great result (for testing), especially as many EU countries have already announced further lockdowns to come into effect immediately after Christmas and a rapid test plan could mean a change to lockdown strategies.
If not with the great conjunction (on Monday), then perhaps by the twelth night, could that be a good estimeate for positive, and 'transformational' news here?

I beleive that each and every investor has to make a disclosure, regardless of their domicile.
The only exception I am aware of relates specifically to any company itself if they have a UK listing, but are incorporarted and listed in the U.S., Japan and Israel (from memory), so this does not apply with regard to AFC.
So, no exceptions regarding any TR1 notifications for a holding in AFC (so far as I am aware).
I could re-read the notification requirements again (I think it is under FCA Handbook; DTR 5), but it is a weekend :-)

Have been stung on AIM before though, and my risk apetite is probably lower now than before as a result.
Not a greedy person, and 165% up here currently. Have shifted my overall investment view here due to ecent news, and as i said, it's happy position to be in.

Decided to extend my personal 20% limit in any one holding today, and set a limit order at 60p to sell 10% of my holding as this would represent a 25% level wit my AFC position. Some 14p higher than my initial target SP from only last week.
Went out for a long walk hoping it would not get filled due to the SP not quite making it there, and a rally in my other stocks and thankfully, my order was not filled
This will be my new srrategy though, 25 % max in 1 stock.
Will review weekly rather than get fixated on daily movements.
Happy problem to have, especially as this looks to be less 'hype' and more realising goals now.
Have taken onboard some recommendations here and elsewhere over the past few weeks and months re: PHE, so I think this will be a likely home for any profits taken. Some diversification.

Perhaps LSE should just close all chat boards, and only open them up for a 2 hour window after any RNS with each poster allowed only 1 post to comment with either a thumbs up, or a thumbs down to express their opinion. Would that be better, or still pointless?

If any material non-public is provided to potential placees (when they are made insiders), it is then required to be released to the market as soon as the placing is made public. All part of MAR.
Hardly a closed circle of friends either really, as this has been the norm with placings, not just with ANGS, but on most AIM shares, and especially when it concerns a smallish figure like this, it is just easier to administer and get away via the broker.
A placing at 60p is hardly a huge discout to the exisitng trading price at the time of announcement, quite reasonable in fact.
But then, this is AIM, so always suspect the worst, conspiracies, games, mates rates, dodgy deals, etc

A few weeks ago, I would have said you were being greedy. I was having similar thoughts for if/when the SP hit circa 46p.
Now though, I feel the company is more de-risked, and that the game has actually changed.
But as you say, time will tell if whatever any of us decide is the right decision.

Perhaps that was because the news released in the last few weeks was not public then?
The outlook here is most definitely more positive than when the SP was under 20p, and very different too given recent news, so any 'strong buy' view now would have more credibility now than then, despite the considerably higher mcap currently.
News and action/activity can change a company's outlook very quickly. This is AIM.

Haven't posted the last couple of days with the last news, but have been enjoying the mood of the board and stories being told.

I always remember my first boss telling me to get involved in the company shareplan scheme when I joined. I always did this at the maximum levels and it paid off in spades over the 13 years I worked there, cashing in shares as soon as I was permitted to in order to spread my investments. Sadly the banking crisis decimated the personal savings of many of my ex-colleagues though who had much of their personal wealth tied up in a supposedly bullet proof company.
In future jobs, this allowed me to make regular mortgage overpayments and AVC's to my work pensions which set me up to retire in my late 40's, and I now live very modestly (and happily) compared to the wild excesses I enjoyed in my 'youth'
My investment here was a small one compared to many, and only here a few months, but with a 20.7p average, I am very happy, albeit I have a conundrum with my own 20% holding limit for any one stock, which I may well need to make a decision on at close of play today. A good decision to have though. I may just let this one ride

Which shorts are these then?
Please provide evidence of any confirmed short on the FCA register, any suitable instrument in order for someone to actually place a short trade, or any broker who is willing to accept a short transaction.
Any of the above would most likely not be a PI 'short' though, which is what you are clearly referring to by talking about posters on here.

No one is over 3 years has ever been able to provide any evidence of shorting here (or any other AIM stock where this 'argument' is regularly used) despite is supposedly being rife across all of AIM.

Oh, and some news article from 6 years or so ago is not 'proof', nor is any down 'spreadbet' (which is not a short in the same way that is mentioned here with the cries of 'shorts closing, or shorts burning).
I look forward to my doubt being proved wrong as it would be good to see how this can be done (every day is a learning day after all)

BAT apparantly have a tobacco plant based vaccine that the FDA have agreed can begin a clinical study on humans.

Extracts from the Guardian:
BAT believes its own (vaccine) can be produced in six weeks, compared with the several months it takes using conventional methods.
This, the company claims, is because of proprietary technology that allows elements of the vaccine to gather quickly on tobacco plants.
BAT also says its vaccine is stable at room temperature
The vaccine has been developed by BAT’s biotechnology division, Kentucky BioProcessing (KBP), which has previously worked on a treatment for Ebola and is also developing a seasonal flu vaccine.
BAT said KBP had cloned a portion of the genetic sequence of coronavirus and developed a potential antigen, which is then inserted into tobacco plants for reproduction.

Disappointing. Poor timing too.
It will be interesting to see the take-up of this (i.e. if over-subscribed).

At a quick count, Magsy has made circa 45 posts so far today and BB has made circa 36 posts.
Both will no doubt continue posting the same thing for the rest of today, much like they have been saying the same thing all day, every day for months.

Neither has said anything in all of those posts today that could not have been said in 2 or 3 posts, it has just become repetitive and boring, just like every day. Posting for postings' sake and clogging up the board.
Opposite sides of the coin with neither prepared to give ground and appear 'weak' by acknowledging the others' point.
2 egos both wanting (and needing) to have the last word and to be shown that they 'called it'.

Both going in the filter for me now.
I have no problem with opposing views, but these 2 have gone too far for me now and offer little to this board.

At least saint appears to have disappeared for good, some 5 weeks without posting here, after non-stop ramping for months and months. Funny how the vaccine news and a SP drop caused him to disapear so quickly. True colours shown there.

As I posted earleir, say what you want about the agendas, or otherwise of particular posters, but there is no denying that sales and only sales will propel this SP to the highs previously seen now.
Approvals, etc will continue to help, of course.
Constant bickering and one-upmanship will not change the fact that sales, and lots of them are needed.

Genuine Question to follow up on the RNS.
Do we know of any other companies that have gone down the route of looking to sell/distribute in the U.S. prior to EUA, and what sort of sales figures they have been seeing? Is there a precedent we can use to comapre for an indication of potential sales prior to obtaining EUA?

Despite your clear board 'allegiances', this is the key factor for any major and sustained SP re-rate (approvals will provide a mini-boost): Sales.
Agree, or disagree with particular posters for keeping making this point, but it is a fact now at this stage of the company's development.
All AIM stocks will have major SP movements at one time or other based on hype, expectation, sentiment, whatever, just as they will have dips for fund raises, hiccups, silence (presumed inactivity).
But, there always comes a point when actual delivery is what the market demands.
GDR is at that stage now with regard to the covid testing market. like it or not.
Yes, there are still lots of potential positives to help move this in the right direction, sentiment will grow, volumes will increase, bigger investors may get on board, etc, but sales are key.
People slating other posters for saying this need to reconsider their thoughts on this imo.

It seems pretty clear to me.
Why was this not done earlier? Because they were wanting approval, It was the preferred method of 'operating' in the U.S. and they have RNS'd this fact. Better to have approval, than not.
Why has the SP not gone into orbit on the back of this? They RNS'd their intent to do this already, so it is not 'new' news. If the approval had been given, yes, it would be a lot higher. This has been a good rise though, but with potential for more still.
Additionally, despite the good news, it is an intent to distribute. It is not a sales contract, or confirmation of sales. Again, if it was a confirmed order for 'X' units, the market would have reacted differently. So, still potential for this to go higher on firm orders, as well as approvals elsewhere.

Yes, it is good news. But how about some rational thinking?
I am hopeful of more positive news on several fronts, but this should be acknowledged as a good result, but with better to come.

Just because an outfit 'departs' exploration, it doesn't mean that they would not be interested in production.
Why not, if it suits all parties and their respective aims and focus?
It's a very general and sweeping comment to say no one would be interested, Mirasol.
The truth is, we do not know who may or my not be intrerested, but there is a good likelihood that someone bigger may well be, whether as a larger JV, total buyout, or whatever.
We will see in time.

From the Gov.UK site regarding the time periods for determining a planning application:
Where a planning application takes longer than the statutory period to decide, and an extended period has not been agreed with the applicant, the government’s policy is that the decision should be made within 26 weeks at most in order to comply with the ‘planning guarantee’.
I believe this takes us to around 25 Feb in order to comply with this requirement (26 weeks from initial submission, assuming an extended period has not been agreed with ANGS).

Sad to read posts like this, but this is the truth.
I have been here for around 3 years now and there has been little to get excited about since the 2019/20 drilling plan RNS was released in Jan 2019, and just look at what has been achieved compared to what was planned/expected.
SS has fingers in so many pies (in the skies) operations now, there is nothing coherant or strategic to understand what the real aim is, and to get behind him on.
I fully understand the risks and take full responsibility for my investment decisions.
Almost 90% down myself, and have set a deadline of end Jan for some news of substance to prevent me from selling out.

I am genuinely starting to believe that the few hundred £'s I have left here would be better off in my WIlliam Hill account. I would certainly get more enjoyment from my weekly speculations on the nags than I am getting from being invested here (plus I am showing a nice 4-bag return on my horse 'investments' over the past 4 months on top of the 100% return I saw in WH shares over a 3 month period before the takeover).

Less than 7 weeks to convince me, SS, otherwise, any spike will do
