For me, AFC will be of more interest to small cap funds and 'green'funds, where eligibility will be different to the larger funds.
II funds will often 'mirror' an in-house fund too, so if a Fund Manager is buying for their fund, they will buy in the II accounts too, subject to any specific restrictions.
I feel that a 100 mcap will have had AFC on a firms' radar to watch, and some funds will allow even smaller companies but only to a certain size holding within their portfolio.
II's seem to fall into 2 categories, either having bespoke portfolio permissions which are often very restrictive (and hard to manage), or are pretty much a basic 'follow fund X' approach. Many II's will have low risk apetites, so AIM holdings may not be permitted. MCAP (for me) is often less of a concern to them than sector or country limits. Minimum turnover is often a more specific requirement as many tend not to like illiquid shares.
Certainly agree on the trading strategy for investment, mostly vwap trades to help keep a 'normal' market.
Whatever the criteria, it would certainly be good to see another TR1, or two here
