80% of shorts to be covered and it’d take 4 days. 72p is price we went to Friday. That is price at which shorts start to lose. If connected..makes sense. Today was curious. Taken to 63.2 to sell and back down to 58.5 sell at one point. Such a controlled share.Making sense is difficult as it is divorced from the company and has become a marketed share in itself. Only asthma news likely Q4. Q1 I would expect shorters covered. But I never know.
We are at about half Placing price again. That is one helluva discount. I remember when 90p+ was the norm. Then 80p+ for a long time. Feels a long way off but it isn’t really. Shorters have to start buying back at this level .Some have ( Renaissance maybe) but Bronte increased. December 6th does not leave that many Q4 trading days so they will have it meticulously planned I am sure.
Don’t think it’s Oliviera but can never be sure until TR1 on a Friday!

L and G sold out of Trin fully at down to 2p. . It restructured and returned at 7p. Presently equivalent of 12.7p (127p)due to WTI drop and sudden death of CEO. L and G lost a lot.
I was in SNG whilst Polar were selling. SNG share bundles were being sold from one fund to another to another. I held firm and admittedly nervoisly at ave. of 46p . I made 2 and a half times my investment as sell limit kicked in too early. I did well on that Monday though. 250% return. Quite happy.
The week beforehand the funds were selling. They knew nothing about the science of interferon-b.
Woodford screwed up. Many funds screw up. Maybe Oliviera wanted to derisk or had other places for money. He certainly didn’t lose out.
Yes the rich cosey up.
But they are just rich. I know many who have died young. Nice to be rich but it ain’t the whole story.
Anyway..funds f*** up because they are run by humans.

Sadly I know that insider trading is still the norm. It really is. My City “ mates” admit it to me . Just like politicians over a beer.
Doesn’t mean Oliviera is selling because of it though. But I personally have no doubt he knows stuff he shouldn’t. I can be wrong. But it is my personal conviction.
So anyway, he can flog a few for cash and still be left with 8.8% for if/when it comes good. And his selling at 80p was probably on a profit to his average.
The movement on this share means that we can see 25% in a day. Ok that won’t hit my average, but that has been as yet on no news…just virtual manipu-trading.

I detest hedge funds who short and any shorters too. The destroy the supply/demand side of the market and sometimes the companies themselves. But they are legal. So it is not really their fault. There are few scruples in business.
Re. the scenario (s) , well….as another poster wrote today….there are those who know they don’t know. I’m one of them. Today surprised the hell out of me. Did not get it at all. Shorters now makes sense. They may have insider info that means no news yet. May have got it from Oliviera.
Or the content pf the news. Or not!!!

Seems a risky game to short right now without insider info. I know insider info is the norm. It does not mean the case here…just don’t get it. Back to 60p. Unbelievable.
I don’t count on positive news on Monday or Tuesday simply because I never count on anything. Learned the hard way.
But I would not be here if I did not have trust in the science and faith ( and faith is all it is) in the company and its works and director and Merck commitment.
Oliviera is a spoke in the wheel.

I was glued to live trades. A lot of big buys and big sells. Most set up.
I found bid-offer spread movement bizarre.
I profited from the moves by selling and buying back same number of shares. Still hold same amount. I found the whole movement bizarre and am used to not having a clue why. Ncyt made more sense today than this! I do think that some shorts may he e been filling. Maybe. I don’t pretend to make sense. I just take too much risk and roll with what happens as best as can.
Seems very risky to be on a short in this share right now though.
But it was VERY tightly controlled today.

My suspicions entirely.
But I hate ( envy) you for being nearly in profit :-)

Pcr testing is to become part of the fabric of societies. Poorer societies as much as they can afford and are assisted by the first world countries

Testing is our new norm . Identifying the variants and new variants. IMO next year will be the year of clarity for how we are to manage covid. Testing will be just a normal activity. Pcr only. No room for error.

Imo this is shorting or mm games to weary investors or lowering price for funds or rich p/i’s. All a game.
This one( like 4D) just needs leaving. We have Dec/Jan and Feb left of winter . Arguably March and April .
Omicron is being played by optimists vs.pessimists. Nothing stopping more variants whilst countries remain unvaccced. 76% in SA. Mm’s want our shares. Sod’em . ( not having mine…or 4D).

I am at present over £30k down here. Very painful. It might help others on a loss to know that.

The way the market is at the moment , you have had the right idea. It does not favour LTH’s. If trials come good then fine. But we on a high average are lose lose right now. But that is the nature of sharedealing. Yer pays yer money. Oliviera sas the spoke in the wheel.

Depends how much you would loss. What it means to you. And where else you would put it.
One of the aims of dropping the price is to force out insecure investors. Oldest trick in book. Works a treat. Mm’s feed off it and use it. It’s not just selling or shorting. This is now just about half Placing price of £1:10p.
But it is a personal decision. Do what you choose.
You can be in no more discomfort/pain than me and perhaps some others too.
You are certainly not alone. I am on a very large 5 figure loss.

Sorry to hesr that but I hope he is fully ok now. I have had friends and colleagues die. One since the vaccine. Two PE teachers I work with were off today with covid Both under 30. Both double vacxed. Glad your bro in law made it.

But these mm’s love to play us and disappoint the private punter/investor.
I suggest a longer time-frame. The Omigod variant (intentional if annoying) is likely to be normalised and treatable and vaccines tweaked for the vulnerable . We are still protected to a degree if vaccinated recently or boostered. Double jabbed friend of mine just made it 4 weeks ago . He would certainly be dead without.
Ncyt is imo deeply undervalued. But yhe market knows it. I want to feel like you very much. But I feel for a consolidated rise we will have to wait.

You are right. But I have been in the market 36 years. The last ten have seen it turn into a casino. Zero interest rates invited Joe and Joleene Punter. Algo settings control the price and are divorced from value. The Warren Buffet investor loses out as much as gains. I am a fine example of a LTH in top quality companies. They are toyed with like a puppet. Mm’s and instis chase short term gains. Every single bloody day. It’s not just investors. Shorting has become systemised and normalised. The City is a computer -set profit maker on a daily basis. It doesn’t mean long term does not work but one has to be very choosy and far more patient than ever ever ever. I was invested on Black Monday. 1988 I think. I remember the hurricane same day. No internet. Just teletext. Valuation and discount to riskd/unrisked NAV mattered. I doubt many investors know what that means, or P/E ratio or Alpha or Beta( not covid). It’s all a game run by very rich market makers in the City and NY etc. The two worst.
These people who take their 20% do very well at times and far better than us LTH’s.
Truth hurts sometimes. Me anyway.
But these in and outers can do very well. They ruin the marketplace but the truth is the truth.Mm’s are just creating a daily market to make as much profit as posiible by foul means or foul ( iintentional) in each one day. I hold a great distaste for the manipulated short -term corrupt market we invest in. But in the last 10-15 years I have become an expert in their games( the hard way). Btw I sold nothing today, expected just a spike and am holding. I am simply fed up with the stupid games and an’t be bothered….even if I could’ve and maybe should’ve sold and rebought. I expected £5 and expected a fall to £4.40..not quite this low.
I do however support your posts. I just have a distaste for a virtual divorced market played like a fiddle.
