IMO ( and I am biased) Mr. Imbert will delay this more in order to reap short-term tax revenue. The budget was very vitriolic about oil companies avoiding PPT through tax losses. It was very much "make them pay for our oil". I keep mistakenly saying knshore is 13% SPT. Should always say 18%. Offshore 33%. If as you say he "phases" this in( i.e.delays the new profit based tax in order to reap SPT) then it may not be until late 2018 that we see a change. Trin does not aim to drill offshore until 2019. Trin's business plan never factored in SPT change so it's as well that we kind of ignore it in a way. It saps expansion......but if they want their cake the govt. are gonna have to eat it. Tax revenue now means less capital for expansion. Can't gave both. I think Imbert will delay...not open the box...deal or no deal?.......he'll take the money. IMO only. Easy money. Tax revision means less cash in back pocket. Easier to delay. Trin does not gave to pay 50% PPT for long time as we know. But IMO we should just ignore spt change. I think the seller may have come to same conclusion..Imbert Inertia Syndrome. Don't expect good news. I can't compete with GO's intricate breakdown analysis. Gotta be relied on. bent the truth in some areas and said that no oil companies in Trinidad paid PPT.Imbert got picked up for that as an untruth. He was blustering about how he aimed to make oil companies cough up. He seems to bluster a lot. A lot of that in politics ( ex-party member speaking. Very ex.)

Could indeed pop. Seems to be the watershed. It's about time Trin responded to WTI ( not that I expect it ). SPT on onshore oil is pretty much negated at $61. (13%). It's the same as oil being at $53.3 pre SPT level. As GO showed in his chart -the higher WTI goes over 54.4 the less SPT becomes an onshore issue. Now offshore is different at 33% tax and Trintes becomes less lucrative (9000 barrels a day ..about 1/3 of production). The offshore growth becomes less likely. Imbert's ineetia is short-term shooting self in tge foot. T and T can't grow production without SPT overhaul. Do they grow mushrooms in Trinidad??

I have always felt that Imbert was just a paper tiger. The T and T budget was amateurish and bordered on aggressive at times. I feel he is happy to soak up SPT. At the time of the budget oil did not look so firm.It's easy ready income for tge govt. Future offshore income may be too far ahead and govts often work on short- term and long term is too simply......far away. Inertia seems likely and Trin will have to cough up and adapt accordingly. Mustn't forget that when I asked Bruce Dingwall about SPT in September he replied that T and T did not look likely to change it. It was a surprise when they said they"would". He admitted it in an RNS. So...change was never expected anyway and Trin are following their normal yearly business plan . The govt has been a spanner in the works. Rejecting onshore sale and not being true to SPT promise. I feel they are not to be relied on and Trin should cover each corner. Trin's team are very astute. They shoukd do this. Shame to be let down though. The share price reflects this too. Interesting large sells at end of day. No sense to me but there is a large seller out there.

Yields very cheap oil. Low SPT. They may even review sale of onshore although it is " non-core asset". Imbert has got under my skin I am afraid. Nothing can move on unless he makes his mind up . Seems to me he just wants to rake in the SPT. New drilling will increase barrels per day. It's already primed and cheap enough. WTI will be the telling factor if SPT doesn't change. Offshore drilling will be the no no with 33% SPT. Divvy ? No don't see it. They need all cash. CLN's are priority. I don't think they'll delay onshore drilling . I can't see any merit in dropping to 13p. Won't benefit anyone except new buyers and in some ways it makes Trin look less attractive to the uninitiated. The AT activity definitely wants this kept down though.

According to the high quality reports I have read ......this is a " once in a lifetime opportunity for oil". It's not the daily oil media garbage either. You are right about the low level of discoveries to relenish consumption. Shale cannot do this. Hence tge supply squeeze we are likely to see late 2018. Gotta be honest....It really p****es me off that Imbert broke his promise. It will hopefully benefit you but just feeds my cynicism regarding so many political/authority figures and the emptiness of pledges. I wanted to realize a few thousand to help youngest out in NZ. Shame.Too much of a loss from 16.7 breakeven. Just gotta keep sitting on hands.

Ok. I empathise but I don't feel it as positive whilst it's happening. A bit like Man@ca....we've been here for 4 years and have been through sh**. We both just want the shenanegans behind us and Trin to stabilise somewhere. I don't expect leaps. I'm just sick of the fiddling about with the share price.
