If FT doesn’t bring the story, it’s not a story !! (IMO)

Be clear this. The Telegraph piece was sloppy journalism ! It was market manipulation. It was in my opinion purposefully designed and written to achieve a certain outcome.

Kier just a month ago declared debt were being managed exactly as per planned, and they said debt reduction activities were well underway. Why would they bother to re-state that, just because The Telegraph (again) come up with some doctored story of Keir’s imminent demise. Last we heard from that lot, HSBC had allegedly shed all their Kier liabilities for 70p per quid. Now HSBC seem NOT to have sold any debt. They make stories up as they go along. Stop believing those faceless morons...

As of 10:15, a total of 2.2m Kier shares had been traded, of the 160m in circulation, less than 1.5% can have become available this morning (appreciate the day isn’t over yet).

Some early riser day traders may have been able to sell first thing, and by again at 1.22/1.23 which in that case means than less than 2.2m shares have been traded, as some has been traded twice today. What I’m trying to say here is that the sell-off is hardly a sell-off at all, and given corona and every other market going south, I reckon it all looks peachy :-)

Good old Telegraph again shaking the tree so their hedgefund mates can buy so more cheap shares before it goes crazy. Sell, sell, sell for God sake sell.
As most people here presumably know, BoJo used to write rubbish for the Telegraph. So now The Telegraph freely can insinuate stuff re HMG, and people clock it as Boris have leaked stuff to his mates at TT. I’ve not read the article itself as I detest that particular paper, but unless a source is named, rest assured it’s written with only one thing in mind, and that is NOT to save you guys from a collapse of the SP, but to scoop up some cheap stock prior to March 5th.

On the other hand. I will happily scoop us some shares if south of 120p. :-)

The farm-out is essential. Without it, what’s the point? If it’s a huge opportunity (no-brainer for a partner) why has nobody taken the bait ? What’s all this rhetoric about ‘finding the right partner’ ? Excuse for nobody yet adequately interested ?? It’s all a bit iffy.....

SP has clearly flatlined. Demand/supply very much balanced out. Too lazy to do charting, but recon todays fluctuations will be the smallest in a long time, and I guess volume will be low. Fewer and fewer shares will be available at 150p. Now just 10 trading days to top up ;-)

Bovis Homes recently acquired Galliford Try’s home building division for £1.1bn where £300m was in cash. I am not quite sure how KL compare to GT’s homebuilding arm, but do not recall it to be massively different !!!!!

I can see it test 150p a few more times, but there will be fewer and fewer shares at sale at that price, and by then there is only one way. More and more of this stock is changing hands from players/traders to people intending to hold it until £2-4. Let’s face it, not a fraction of bad news has emerged from/about Kier for a very long time. Any comparison with Carillion is totally misplaced. Enjoy....

Brilliant SP performance today. Flatlining every other day is fine by me for as long as every alternate day rewards holders with a 5% premium..

We are just 11 trading days away from hearing news which may well (highly probable) set this stock on fire. I’d be amazed if any shorter’s are left on March 5th.

This could be excellent news. If the Chinese are to deliver the main railway line infrastructure in half the time, all the adjacent work (bridges, tunnels, stations, crossings) equally will need to be delivered in half the time. And I do not believe the chinese would want to get their hands on that. So just maybe this means more Kier folks involved from the get go! (For a shorter duration of course).

So folks, when are we thinking PANR again will be traded ? Mid February is about now....

It’s obviously good news, but Kier already have an impressive order-book why HS2 in my view isn’t a miracle cure to Kiers issues. But it helps a lot. KIE traded at 144p in October so with certainty re HS2 and increased probability of being financially salvaged soon, I reckon we will see 150-175p tomorrow, edging upwards for the foreseeable future....

What’s not to like about all this ?

Boris has easily pledged half a trillion pounds to all sorts of things, well knowing we may be about to enter an economic squeeze even tighter than in 2008. Boris will HAPPILY negate on every single promise, simply saying (correctly) that the economy isn’t there yet for a big spending frenzy. He now also knows that TA’s with EU and US are further away and more doubtful than just a week ago. The list of prominent Tories now backtracking on Brexit benefits is growing by the day....

As for “If vs when” yeah you are right, it will inevitably happen. Still, what it means in terms of cash coming in, I wouldn’t lay any bets on that. But if the sale of Linden Homes can be used as a yard stick, it should all come good....

Interesting one, this is. Being out of this at 4.30 today could cost a nice 10-20% upside. On the flip side being in could cause quite a bit of a knock if BoJo realises he has pledged too much money already, and consequently decides to pull the proverbial handbrake. However, even with a knock this is still going to recover nicely when KL sale goes through. Also, if Boris gives the go-ahead tomorrow, there may be no chances left of buying KIE at a discount !!!! Decisions, decisions......

When is a final decision on HS2 expected ?

According the recent RNS, the sales process is progressing and Kier is managing the debt according to plan.

I am not physic but I guess that the brought-forward reporting date could have something to do with the sale. Not sure why else they brought the reporting forward (with 1 or 2 weeks if memory serves me well). I have yet to fail the CEO in any of his dealings with Kier and it’s issues.

Anybody here who knows what their financial calendar for 2020 looks like ?
