Re debt, and how quickly a debt-laden but otherwise well-performing company can be taken over by new owners, check out the circumstances that led to the privatisation of InterServe. It’s all relatively well documented on Wikipedia. InterServe is 3x size of Kier with only half the debt as I recall
It’s not the last time we will see a takeover like that. Also, I do not no the situation re Kier loan repayments, but I do know that Kier a year ago promised market (lenders included) to dispose of a handful of assets, and as we all know that has not gone to plan.
The VERY LAST thing we want is Kier to breach banking covenants, of which there is bound to be quite a few....
