I’m thinking the trading update to be released Mon 12th, which will be fairly consistent with Monday 14th last year. Any thoughts on the matter ?

Highest MCAP of all grocery businesses in U.K. with 1.7% market share is obviously ludicrous. The sentiment is all in the tech part, where the Norwegians now are going in for the kill.

Amazing to think the Norwegians have sat back since 2012 and watched Ocado just until a point where they think the balloon is about to pop and then file, well knowing that Ocado will be more tempted to settle outside of court quickly (if the case carries merit), rather than a long drawn court process, which surely will make any future Ocado tech clients rather nervous. As for an eventual settlement, it will presumably be a percentage of the value that the stolen/copied Norwegian tech has allowed Ocado to add to the company. So excellent timing so to speak, depending on viewpoint. Ocado may of course argue that the Norwegians are full of nonsense, but as a chap from the Nordic region myself, I will say that the Norwegians normally aren’t playing any games they think they might loose... I am not holding any position in Ocado (long/short).

Carillion had all sorts of fundamental issues, cashflow for one, paying suppliers/subcontractors many months late, as well as underbidding on pretty much every contract won.

Big bloody mess it was !!!

I assume you mean the YGEN SP is ‘SOLIDLY’ stuck at around 17p, where is is today, and where it also sat etc 7 months ago on February 21st !! Rather unusual of a diagnostics company involved in the CoVid game, now 8 months into a global pandemic.

Not sure what global event your research has uncovered raising your anticipation of the YGEN SP being catapulted into the stratosphere, but if CoVid can’t do it, I for one struggle to think of one that can. Your research must be significantly better than mine. Or, making money on shares (regardless of asset) may not be your game !!! Fair enough if that’s the case.....

As I sure you a well aware of, investing in any other diagnostics outfit than YGEN 6 months ago, would today have rewarded the investor many times better than YGEN.

Which makes one wonder what your motive is in constantly talking up this share in almost a bot-manner. And besides, I leave this board when I feel like it, and not because the default chief editor dislikes my comments. So I suggest you just get used to it. Many people here will be holding BECAUSE of you, and are now looking back at many lost alternative opportunities.....

Still amazed people hanging on to this share. Where are the news of incoming cash ??

Happy for YGEN exec’s to clock up millions of air miles, but would expect something in return.

Loads of news, but no clue how/if these convert to sales....

With all due respect, you are talking nonsense. Had Kier not brought in AD and he his management team, there would be no Kier today.
Also, with a ton of adversity against them, they have shouldered through, and we all know that the quality of the £8bn orderbook probably are many times better than it used to be.

Also, AD today had Opportunity to announce a recapitalisation of the group which would have rendered every holder potentially poorer for it, yet he didn’t.

Bottom line, I have no idea what your moan is about. So wake up and smell the coffee. See you at 150p ;-)

Last years autumn trading update came out on October 30th.

Volume less than 40k and an 8% spread !!

It isn’t.
The SP is around 17p. This will be true for the foreseeable future.....

We are clearly drawn towards 300p on no news. YGEN is issuing frequent news, but not about trading and their SP has been flatlining for a loooong time. In this CoVid era, the only thing that matters is actual trading updates. When is it likely we will see one here chaps ????

I can appreciate that the company thinks no real investor returns will happen until 2021. I’d argue the diagnostics marked is becoming an increasingly cluttered playing field and will be forever changed by CoVid with something like 4-500 companies fighting for gov testing budgets globally, many of whom are new and undoubtedly will venture way beyond CoVid for longterm survival. Where that will leave YGEN we apparently will have to wait to 2021 to see. As we aren’t reassured by a steady climb of SP, I guess we have to lean on the dreaded investor faith in the company, and dismiss the SP performance in relation to news flow as persistently odd abnormalities. Strange things do happen.....

Bang-on. YGEN is not an easy share to own. In principle every shareholder has equal rights to information affection the value of a company. However, in the case of YGEN, 56% of all shares are hold by company insiders. Additionally, another 23% of shares are held by relatively few II’s which representatives are likely to enjoy a much higher level of shareholder maintenance. I mean, how can it otherwise be explained that the business as easy as nothing raises £13m in no time. If any of you lot had that sort of money, would you have thrown £13m on the table, given the knowledge/updates you recently have received from the company? I somehow doubt it. Well the result is obvious. More and more PI’s will sell out, making the shares available to insiders and II’s kept in the know !! Well,......

56% of shares are with insiders, and only God knows what they paid for them if anything at all. What we all know is that these shares are worth in region of £60m, so none of the holding insiders (imv) are incentivised to break sweat to survive. Hell, even if the SP halved, it wouldn’t affect them much as it may not be real money invested in the first place.

As I’m sure you know, in the case of YGEN there is a significant portion of shares (77%) held by insiders and II’s. I’m amazed you never seem to ask yourself whether the 23% PI’s are getting a fair deal in this (what ought to be) gold rush. And by the way, I’ll leave this board precisely the second I feel like it, and not because some rambling evangelist asks me to !!
