As ever the BBC report the same statistics in their own unique, ‘impartial’ way!

Come on Barry, why let the truth get in the way of some de-ramping?!
Even if it was the same data, is it ever a bad time to remind people you have a drug capable of reducing a virus to undetectable levels during a global pandemic with a new variant on the loose?
Great timing (again) from the Synairgen team.
A brilliant reminder, to anyone that needs it, of what this drug is capable of. This presentation sets the scene nicely and must surely build anticipation in the scientific and political communities about what the P3 data will show.
It should also act as a reminder to anyone here getting nervous about why you just need to hold a little longer. Yes, the SP might get dragged down a bit more. Some people may have doubts that they’re too heavily invested or that it could all go wrong. Listen to your instinct, it’s supported by the evidence and hold tight for the results.
And if you want to hold even longer I think the long Covid results will be spectacular but that’s just personal opinion from how the drug seems to fight the infection.
Assuming this is the same as Dumbpunter was referring to earlier. We know that in vitro testing has been carried out on certain variants and SNG001 was found to be effective.
We know very little beyond that though and crucially we don’t know what is going to be on this presentation so nobody can really say this is telling us what we already know!
I think it’s great news we’re presenting. Even if it does cover (mostly) old ground, that’s no bad thing before our latest results arrive.
Of all the people to have a go at, let’s not start on Tornadotony.
Some on here like charts and his updates, some don’t. TT though has never proclaimed to be mystic Meg, advising people when to sell or buy. Nor has he been claiming to have been right/wrong when the SP moves one way or another. It’s simply providing an observation based on past data.
There is a section under the poster presentation which says:
This announcement contains inside information for the purposes of Article 7 of Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014 ('MAR').
Does this mean the presentation will contain inside information? Or that the RNS contains inside information (which I can’t really see)?
If the former, then there could be some big news this evening.
Completely agree Ndn.
When I first read some of these boards I thought people were joking when they were on about plants on here to get you to sell.
Multi-million pound companies don’t care if they can get you or I to sell so they can hover up a few more shares at 174p rather than 186p. The main thing is about having the foresight, vision and belief to be in a new share/company/product before the big news lands.
Totally agree Elsol.
Whether Omicron goes on to make people more/less sick than previous variants - what it has done is focus the mind of any politicians who though we’d vaccinated our way out of this.
A timely reminder that a plan B is needed, whether it’s to combat Omicron, a future variant or to be prepared for a threat which doesn’t materialise.
Queue SPRINTER results….
At the minute speculation and people using partial evidence to fill their own narrative is being used to fill the hole in the absence of hard evidence about the impact of Omicron.
In the event that it is less serious, it should nonetheless focus government attention on how quickly and severely a virus can mutate, and the need to be prepared for that in future.
As the data from Omicron becomes clearer in the coming weeks, we’ll hopefully also have data which shows SNG001 will be able to help prevent deaths be that against Omicron or something else.
Until then people will continue to believe whatever suits their own narrative.
Similar response later on too - antivirals coming along which they know work.
Shame the people asking the questions don’t get a follow up to ask what those are and where they are coming from.
“ The Prime Minister's official spokesman said the variant was 'not seen as something that is an issue' for the UK at present.”
I seem to recall similar sentiment towards the original strain a couple of years ago!
While this may turn out to be nothing it would just have been nice to have had something a bit more comforting from no10. Maybe along the lines of ‘we’re monitoring all variants and will be ready if required.” That could be quickly made vaccines, other treatments or (hopefully) stockpiles of SNG001. Just something a bit more reassuring than hoping it comes to nothing!
We can all speculate as much as we like but the truth is that nobody knows what goes on behind the scenes.
The UK government have already shown themselves keen to be early adopters of vaccines and treatments where there is evidence to support them. Some of the evidence may be questionable but that’s another debate.
The UK government probably could have done more to support Synairgen but we don’t know the conditions which may have been attached to such support. We do know that they’re well aware of Synairgen and I’m sure come 2022 when there is a broader base of evidence supporting the use of SNG001 the UK government will be as keen as anyone to champion it and the support provided to the team by the NIH.
Just personal opinion but I don’t think the government have thought that far ahead. I genuinely think they thought with the vaccines in place we would have achieved heard immunity by now.
If Covid isn’t going away though, or becoming weaker then you raise a valid question as to how often you get a booster. Perhaps it’ll become like a seasonal flu jab only given to the most vulnerable.
Yep, you’re right Cam.
Just go back to the last presentation and you’ll see that they can ramp up to 100k treatments per month with government support. It’s not the case that they’ve been producing this volume since the target was originally announced.
