I find it hard to take this thread seriously. Did these people really buy shares in this company without the faintest idea what an RTO or a cash shell is?
As someone said, it's gambling. Like the horses, you may have some idea of likely form to guide your bet. But it's a murly business.
Mainly, try and get in cheap so odds are in your favour. Cash shells are common on AIM. Don't buy on the spike.

You'll rarely sell exactly at the peak and buy exactly at the trough, but a little trading along the way can gradually free up some cash or make your investment essentially free.

Ben & MarkP, well summed up what most of us on here think or hope happened this afternoon. It was, in a strange way, an entertaining half hour, even though I saw my holdings fall considerably. I think many did sell on the way down automatically through stop losses or panicking; or hoping to buy back in cheaper. I considered the final option but didn't want to try and catch that falling knife, especially as several platforms had already been playing up this afternoon according to posts on other shares.
It was too quick for most of us to join the dots as you have done, fairly convincingly.
It may be that we have been done over by the big boys, but the risk and return is why we are here. I'm still tempted to try and rustle up some cash for the morning, if there is no RNS.
If it all falls through - well it's already been a long wait since suspension.
Been an intersting week for those of us gambling on SYME, AMIGO and EUA!

I think there may have been a lot of frustration at allocations, hence PB have emailed us all asking for feedback.
This was my reply:
I have been pleased with the service from Primary Bid, in this and other placings. I know there was quite a lot of frustration at scaled back allocations with this placing, but equally an understanding that with an over subscribed placing there is a problem to solve.
You either shut the subscription early, or you scale back allocations.

Shutting subscriptions early favours those investors who are constantly watching their emails etc. and have ready cash available. It therefore narrows the pool of investors and probably selects the more trade driven investor. However, it may also favour the investor who already knows about the company and either has a holding, or is contemplating one.

The alternative is scaling back. You then have to decide whether to scale back all applications equally; or give proportionally more allocations to small applications. I favour the latter, but am biased as I am likely to make small applications. However, dealing charges mean that scaling back small applications to very small allocations are useless for the investor.

Absolutely. Anyone that thought this was free money with no risk doesn't understand investing.
I'm not a fan of all the abuse and name calling that goes on here.
We've either been shafted by some big players; or this is just the preliminary to something we all want.
Unless you're a short term trader, don't buy a share if you're not prepared to hold it through the dips

If it is insider trading I'm not sure AIM can get at this guy. Given that Russian citizens can come into the UK and the rest of mainland Europe and inject people with radioactive / nerve agents, a little bit of insider dealing isn't going to be a worry for them

yup, wish I'd had some spare cash about half an hour ago - everything looked cheap!

Loads of mine are down - wish I had some spare cash this afternoon but invested in AGM and SEE last night / this morning.

only reason to worry is if you are a trader chasing 10% 20%.
May fall on results, may go up. No one knows - suspect that is why price is stalled today. Near historic highs - some may take profits if they haven't already.
Only a problem if you are chasing small gains, or need the money soon. Otherwise relax and enjoy the (most likely) onwards and upwards trajectory.

Selling the shares will incur whatever your usual dealing fee is.
Like many, I was disappointed in my allocation; wasn't able to top up earlier but have just bought more at 49p, still cheap in my opinion.
Not in any rush to sell these

I got around 30% but only applied for £500 as that was all the cash I had immediately available last night
Will probably buy some more today as was watching these anyway, and reckon they'll climb from here.
But frustrating

There's always that suspicion that MM & BOD have connived to raise share price prior to a placing; Generally I think it is unlikely: if proven though the consequences would be huge. Much more common, I think, is a company taking advantage of a surge in interest and share price to raise additional funds - and get some publicity.
There has been a lot of recent interest in graphene, and Tirupati's share price has more or less doubled since their IPO

I satisfy the boredom itch by diversifying - I'm in several battery, hydrogen, graphene, mining etc stocks related to green energy. Something's always going up and something's always going down.
It also means I never get that stressed when something falls.
Others prefer to be all in on their favourite share. Each to their own.
