RE: Positive times coming up8 Feb 2021 12:25
Given the nature of the pandemic, I would expect that if the Home Trial data is positive, then they would release it as soon as they have it.
I'm still frustrated at how poorly publicised this was; if SNG do a Phase 3 home trial , hope they do better publicity / quicker recruitment.
For example, AZN are running a phase three trial and it is being widely publicised in primary care:
COVID-19 research - TACKLE study
Publish Date: 02/02/2021 17:00:00 GMT
EMIS (provider of medical software) is collaborating with Oxford University and AstraZeneca on a Phase III randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-centre study to determine the safety and efficacy of the AZD7442 long acting antibody for the treatment of COVID-19 in non-hospitalized adults. More commonly, this is known as the TACKLE Study.
What is this study about?
There is an urgent need to quickly evaluate treatments that might prevent COVID-19 from worsening and reduce serious morbidity from the disease. The AZD7442 treatment is a combination of monoclonal antibodies which target SARS-CoV-2 and may be able to prevent the virus from entering human cells. The primary aim is to determine the effectiveness and safety of AZD7442 in preventing severe COVID-19 illness or death.
The study is open to 1700 participants over the age of 18 years who have been symptomatic for less than 7 days and have a positive COVID-19 test. It is a Phase III Double-Blind study in which participants will receive either AZD7442 or a placebo and will be followed up over the course of a year.
