Hindsight is a wonderful thing. You'd have to be both smart and lucky - and I'm neither - to successfully switch back and forth between ITM and AFC riding the dips and surges to your benefit.
Having been in this much of last year at sub-20 levels, I'm happy with where the price is now even though I've averaged up a couple of times on recent rise. A retrace is common after such a rise, and as a holder you just need to wait for news or a change in sentiment. Frustration and boredom are two of your greatest enemies in maximising returns on your investments.
Or you could just sell and take your profits.
Somehow, I find it more frustrating to watch a company I have sold out of take off, than to watch a rise in a company I've never got round to buying into.

Good question, to which I don't know the answer. However, not that uncommon I would say - I seem to recall EQT doing something similar last year with their placing. It knocked the share price back for a while, but look where it is now. I took a punt then on increasing my EQT holding and have never regretted it. I'm doing the same now as I've been thinking of picking some of these up anyway. My other graphene investments have done well, and I think there is real potential.

The amount of chatter on this board bears little relation to a share's prospects - at times the relationship is more inverse (see AMIGO, ARB etc).
A lot of my biggest winners attract little or no attention on here.
But I think Abingdon has a bright future. Testing for Covid is going to be crucial for some time to come.
I've spread my bases across a few players now.

I find HL better than AJBell for N American stocks but as others have said you need to understand the difference between a full listing and ADR - eg Jinkosolar is a Chinese stock but you can buy on US exchange as an ADR, but not in an ISA.

I'm trying to sell a few to transfer a bit into Abingdon; only a small amount but struggling to get a quote on HL

I've spent today vaccinating people, as I did last weekend and expect to do every weekend for the foreseaable future. I'd love to see a successful treatment for Covid. Even better for me if it id SNG001, and better for everyone it SNG001 is a Covid wonder drug. But mainly, I just want effective treatment for this illness. You can't put a price on that. I've got elderly close family. They don't care about the price of SNG shares.
I'm a fan of SNG. Look at my post history - I've tried to encourage better uptake of the At Home Trial (now fully enrolled). SNG is one of my biggest holdings. FIngers crossed.

In those who get really ill from Covid, the body's inflammatory response seems to be part of the problem, as with many illnesses. Gout, is an inflammatory condition. I've been looking at buying in too - solar panel market looks set to keep growing. My other solar panel shares (mainly N America) have taken off past 6-12 months. Question then being, why not Verditek? Technology looks promising, but it's a crowded market and they have to sell their product. As others have expressed, this they haven't done well it seems, although the pandemic may not have helped.
I've emailed them to day to ask about sales, including to individuals (since they list domestic caravans as a target market).
I've also pointed out the spelling mistake on the website ;> at first I thought it might be an Italian spelling, but it isn't even that

JL662 - if you've held on this long - however long this is - then selling as soon as we reach 67 doesn't make a lot of sense; once it reaches that point it is likely to keep rising, though nothing is guaranteed, and this is not financial advice

I'm neither frustrated nor worried - just interested to see how this plays out next. But then i don't have a huge amount invested and always knew this was a gamble - potentially big rewards, but equally potential to lose it all.
For a company specialising in financing, however, it is ironic to have made this apparently basic accounting error. unless, as others suggest, it was planned all along.

I haven't read Questor, and frankly can't be bothered, but presumably reflects both his/her attitude to risk and also profile of target DT investor. Better bank 10/20/50% profit than risk losing it (which is perfectly possible if trial data disappointing).
Personally, I'm willing to take that risk for the potentially far greater returns if it comes off.
But it is, at present, only a small percentage of my overall portfolio so if it goes tits up, I can live with that.
Far more fun to see it take off.
And feels good to support the company.

It's an expensive drug, and being used in a life-threatening situation, so clearly important that the dose isn't wasted and is delivered to where it is needed. Especially for the trials you need consistency of delivery, and minimise user variability.
However, nebulisers are less fashionable now than they were - many respiratory experts suggest that using a spacer device properly can be as effective, or even more effective, than a nebuliser - given that some of the nebulised drug ends up as fine particles escaping the mask and not being inhaled at all.
