@samdb , no argument there are issues globally, point is uk government over promising and under delivering again, if they had said 10million does a month available three months after approval we would know where we stand, they just issue bull that they think we want to hear rather than just saying it as it is

If you had watched the MHRA press conference this morning announcing the Oxford vaccine approval and how much emphasis they put on the fact it didnt need ultra cold storage you would understand where possible demand will come from with the new mRNA vaccine approach. Covid vaccine was never going to be the play for N4P, none of the vaccine makers would restart their trials after they are so close to approval, next generation vaccines are the play here

@ErrHum , agree with all you said, problem being logistics around professional use, we are struggling across the country to find enough professionals to deliver antigen testing and vaccine rollout, the additional workload of antibody tests means the government won’t invest much effort very quickly, the Mologic antigen test is the golden goose here!

Without MHRA approval for home use, there will be little demand for the antibody test beyond the current surveillance usage. My recent experience of the flu vaccine is it took less than 2 mins in the surgery to get the jab and get out, if we need to get 2million a week of the covid vaccine rolled, then it wont be linked with an antibody test that slows down the process

@Ton1C, I thought so too, i was hoping (and i think Colin was too) that this would have been complete by now, but first thing in the new year will be fine, What the announcement from Mologic does indicate, is that they would have been in a position to submit tender for the £928M contract that closed on the 18th December, so hopefully they did and we can start getting UK manufactured tests to the UK population and dump the chinese made Innova crap

I doubt ODX will feel this worthy of an RNS, they will need to gain CE approval of the Mologic test themselves once tech transfer is complete, CE mark covers manufacturing process so id specific to each of Mologic’s manufacturers

ODX will also need to CE mark the test from their facility, The CE mark covers manufacturers process snd procedures, first step down the road, but heading in the right direction

With MHRA giving home use approval for other manufacturers swab based LFT antigen tests it means there is no policy block to mologic gaining the same approval in rapid order,

So this is the news flow we need, if Colin hasn’t been fibbing with regards to the Mologic test , we should hear by RNS, we did for the UK-RTC and triple antibody tests

There are no antibody tests approved for home use, Colin confirmed that the uk-rtc test was the only one currently submitted to the MHRA, the use case is completely different for antibody tests compared to antigen tests,

We dont have MHRA , the approval is specifically for swab based antigen testing, which we dont have available until we get the Mologic antigen test into production, For gods sake,

Lets just assume that Colin has learnt his lesson on trying to give timelines that aren’t under his control, he should never have mentioned MHRA approval being imminent, or Mologic TT being a Christmas present, it just makes him look like he doesn’t have a handle on timescales for key deliverables that affect his company.

You cant assume that swab based LFT antigen testing getting MHRA home use approval will have any relation to Pin-prick capillary blood testing antibody tests getting approval, we can safely assume a Mologic swab test antigen test could piggyback approval but not the Abc-19 test

This isn't approval for the antibody test, that needs capillary collection process to be approved, this is swab based collection for antigen testing

This would be why the government advised Avacta to move its development from saliva based to swab based so they dont have to go through the approval process again when uk manufacturers have tests available, and we can finally ditch the poor innova test, just need news on Mologic TT now as soon as possible, i’ve lost hope of the uk-rtc antibody test going anywhere fast, could get some usage for vaccine surveillance but limited numbers now
