Interesting thoughts there SBP.....
A drop Joey?! If we drop any further then LSE will need to upgrade the new beta for another version that can display more decimal places....
You may he right, Roy, I just don't know what to think at present. One thing's for sure, if they have been taking the p*ss all this time then it's the best bloody con I've ever seen. From all the individuals directly involved, Simon sounding oh so sincere on the phone to seadog potentially having played an absolute stormer as undercover troll of the year. The lack of willingness to believe that so many people could have duped me, particularly as someone who takes pride in reading people and situations, I'm inclined to believe it simply hasn't come together for the company yet, despite efforts. That doesn't excuse the lives they've most likely ruined along the way, however....
Roy 15:56 post agreed. It should be the company offering the olive branch to what is now a substantial group of long suffering LTHs. If not an olive branch then something, anything to show money to date hasn't simply been p*ssed away. And before we have a seadog'esque reply to say they have shown progress....after the latest placing antics I'm afraid what they've offered by way of explanation so far isn't enough, not by a f*cking long shot.
I'm guessing by the latest posts from LY and LT that something may be in the pipeline, however, I do increasingly feel like I'm living groundhog day....is something really afoot or have the company drum beaters been asked to start beating again? Who knows....I no longer trust anyone on here, that's for sure...
Fair play....you've added your own timelines and no doubt have your own reasons for that but clearly everyone needs to follow the same process based on personal circumstances and judgement. I believe Billy is right, however, and if this turns out to be one big scam then there will be a good few holders who have no intention of walking away quietly.....
That may be so, XR, but SBP is right in that telling people to sell up and move on if they don't like the status quo is beyond annoying tbh. I don't know a single shareholder who could have seen this coming based on official comms from the company. Anybody who did was party to privileged information and certainly didn't share it on here, in fact the opposite as they were trying to get people to buy more.
You are entitled to your position on it but stop trying to tell others what to do with significant paper losses. It may turn out that selling up is the best option or it may turn out that paper losses can still be recovered....those are decisions to be made by each individual alone.
My thoughts exactly, Billy.
And how about you NowtNu...fairly niche handle, wouldn't you say?
I wouldn't say cheerful KR but going to get a bit proactive on my own before looking at strength in numbers. Good idea contacting Graham and Simon.....only real way of getting a feel for things at the moment as impossible to know who's calling it right on these boards, although certainly doesn't hurt being aware of scenarios that may have occurred to others but hadn't crossed one's own mind. Once more into the breach, KR, I'll see you on the other side, or most probably before!
KR, I'm going to do some of my own investigating before picking the brains of yourself and the others I was hoping to catch up with offline. Probably worth you doing the same and then if something is delivered in the meantime then we can review whether action is still required; if it isn't and things go to the wire then at least we'll be ready to share findings and hopefully take things forward quite swiftly. Sound ok?
TCM, I didn't call you a disgrace for what you said regarding the Alan situation....I actually agreed with that stance at the time. I called you a disgrace because you are a swinging disgrace ;p
Cant argue with that Sharelock as the price does dictate sentiment and particularly based on personal averages. However, to kick it to this level brings in all the doubts and questions we've seen since Friday. Whatever happens, they have no doubt already destroyed a couple more lives with this latest trickery, and seemingly just so that our upstanding ex-Chair can score some points. Disgusting.
KR, just on my way home now. Will set up an account later or definitley tomorrow. I rate Sherlock's research too just think some of us have got a bit too close to this to see the wood for the trees, me included. Taking a step back is a tonic in itself, although doesn't help the anger unfortunately. There is still hope that the best case explanation for all of this will still come to pass. If you spoke to Simon last night and he's still implying such then the lot of them at our beloved company want stringing up if it turns out not to be the case. Will catch up on Twitter when I can and also try to refrain from posting too much on here....does little good other than to vent and I agree that it's rather self-defeating to slag off my own investment choice!
If you're being a realist I'm afraid it isn't coming across....your posts from before the placing and since are coming across as increasingly defensive of the company position. And I'm sorry but the 'building a business' line no longer washes when we're now on the third business model (G2W) with no evidence of what happened to the first two. As for project lifecycles, if most PMs were given as much flexibility as Nuog to build a business case and deliver then nothing in the world would ever progress. Supposedly the beauty of their USP as an investment opportunity is that they don't have the sort of costs and timescales that typical fledgling exploration companies have. Given the time and cost elapsed so far I would say we could have discovered oil and/or dusters a couple of times over!
You're right that it's unrealistic to expect that level of work package breakdown but that's only because it's AIM and they are under no obligation to provide it.
I'm not looking for personal war here Sharelock but the current company position is indefensible until and unless they pull something out of the bag. I don't agree with publicly slating a share in which I'm invested but I imagine the significant change in the tone of my posts should indicate that many of us are seriously considering other avenues here. And if someone replies saying 'so sell and move on' then I will happily chuck said person out of a window....such responses are ever so slightly missing the point!!
Sharelock, asking where the money has been spent is the wrong question? I don't think you'd get far as an angel investor or venture capitalist! If it has been spent on man hours then show us who, how long and when. I work in project management and everything has to be costed and evidenced to the nth degree so to say they that they understandably won't be able to produce it is cutting them far, far too much slack.
Your research may be good Sharelock but your responses are sounding more and more defensive and akin to seadog or a company employee every time you post. We all want the potential positive reasons for all of this to be real but the company is doing little to prove us wrong at present.
Agreed not_Sure and have done the same
Good post Sharelock and I agree with the summary of the Minty situation. However, if it happens to be true that he did this in part to punish shareholders for ousting him then there is still validity in the argument that he could take it further. MFDev have secured a new funding route and with NF seemingly obsolete for the time being, Nuog has lost a lot of its use to both MFDev and the Minty clan. I'm certainly not pedalling this angle but it needs to be aired as a possibility.
I hope to goodness your inferences are correct but until the company actually tell us something, those inferences are no more valid than those arguing to the contrary.
If nothing else, we appear to have resumed some constructive debate at least.....and on that note, I'd better get back to work too....I have the benefit of a role that allows me to post on here and make up time at other points but I might just be stretching that flexibility now!!
Fair play Bestmate...I'm aware my tone has changed quite significantly so assumed it was indeed directed at me. If anything my anger has increased since Friday so I'm not exactly in the mood for 'look on the bright side or sell up' posts, particularly when we are talking about small fortunes at stake for some people. I hope to goodness Sharelock and LT are right, as does any genuine holder, however, I think balance is also needed.
How about you jog on Bestmate? Stop acting like your angle is the only one that can be right...it's narcissistic and very dangerous.
Agreed that share prices are temporary but until the company proves otherwise, there is also validity in the arguments that a certain individual is looking to punish shareholders and that Nuog appears to have lost its significance in the whole equation, which leaves us very vulnerable. There is also validity in the argument that GS has been set up as the fall guy...he starts and within months the share price is destroyed....who comes out smelling of roses? We need to consider all possible reasons for the latest turn of events, not just the positive ones.
Twitter groups are what they are and yes, the one I was in was mostly a more concentrated version of discussion that takes place on here. However, I'm also aware of even more concentrated and closed groups beyond the main one that only contained a select few and can only imagine the purpose of those. In creating these groups, you are inevitably filtering out a lot of the naysayers, thus creating a pack of like-minded individuals. Whether you realise it or not, you're filtering information as a group before it gets posted on here and that can result in the false dawns other genuine holders keep getting subjected to through predictions posted on here, often as a result of discussions in the more concentrated groups.
Sorry Sharelock but even if it's an unintended consequence and some of you aren't in fact company drum beaters, the actions of these groups are affecting the decisions of others and therefore playing with lives. That is why I got so aggressive with the trolls and I'm seeing it happening on the flip side now, even if you don't recognise it. I openly disagreed with the way Roy went about his 'oust Minty' campaign but I have to say that of all the posts I've read on here since the AGM, his are up there with he most balanced, and we certainly need a bit of balance!
