Trello, no-one really knows what lies ahead. So many of these financial firms can't help themselves stirring things and playing the suggestion psychology games !! I guess that's why I stick to mainstream commentaries and avoid the multiple "experts" on whether there'll be an "R" or not in the near future. I can see Harris getting in and interest rates lower by 0 50% in Nov. Markets are simply correcting a bit now as they advanced maybe too fast.

Longtimeinvestor, me too at c 635.5 p. There's talk now of maybe a 0.50% US interest rate cut in Sept and once these ideas start the Market could start moving up again. It's amazing how surprised the Market is at the US stats on Employment and Claims and Manufacturing whilst that is the intention of higher interest rates to cool the economy so that interest rates can start dropping again. I realise that some worry that Central Bankers wait too long before they start easing, but weak stats should be expected before easing starts. Maybe they'll start in Aug with a 0.25% drop ?

Meoryou, you may very well be right. There could very well have been a clinical strategy by UK politicians and media to discredit Oil and Gas companies so that taxing them criminal amounts would be popular amongst the general populous OR one simply followed the other as it would be easier to criminally tax. Surely the large Oilies could come up with a Charm Offensive though, ie effectively play the populist politics game, considering the large resources they have ? If they became more popular to the general public then it may be more difficult for HMG to criminally tax them ?

Sharefall, the war could drag on for years yet, do people think it's going to end soon and this is driving the share price up currently ? Any deal with Putin is worth nothing, he's psychopathic and will break any so-called 'Peace' deal.
