SNewby, fair enough, you may be right, and the time period assessed is critical, but short downtrends can be a warning to a longer downtrend. I'm confident in Ceres for fundamental reasons re AI data centres and other high energy intense usage centres evolving. I disagree that "Qualified Business Professional ..... means nothing" as it has given me various skills in investing that I may not have otherwise. However, I agree that luck can also be a huge factor in picking the most profitable shares, eg I've owned RR shares since 2020 when they were sub £1 !!

1863, Ceres could have positive news, many shares drop like this before Updates and those who don't panic and sell, and even top up, are rewarded when the news is better than expected !!

Mark_rs, hold your nerve Mark !! Patience pays gains in most cases. Bank of America as well as Morgan Stanley are pushing RR strongly. Investors taking profits can provide opportunity to top up.

Agree Landlord, but Ceres has been dropping 3 days in a row by about 6%, 4%, 3%, surely that can raise more concerns. I've put Strong Buy because this is a high alpha more volatile stock, but its current trend is unsettling, eg will it fall another 3% tomorrow ?!!

Fair enough Percypipe, I didn't dig deeper like you did, just saw HGEN winding down and thought their winding down a possibility. ITM fell c. 4% today too, AFC also fell a lesser %. Looks like a fund reducing exposure, we'll probably never know !!

Garonne, see your point, but nothing is 100% definite and Denis and other senior ITM mgt and directors have purchased and are purchasing thru co schemes high amounts of shares already !! CWR and AFR are also down today, strange considering Europe's aim to spend more on hydrogen energy sources ...

MPO818, Shorts are playing with fire here, price has gone from c.210p to now 347p in a flash, a 65% rise, 65% drop for the Shorters for whom I've utter contempt for !!

Dan222, agree in principle to prioritising paying off debt, however ... if divs are cut then the share price will fall and that'll make buy backs more attractive !! Thus, they have to balance the 3 variables of debt repayment, buybacks and divs as the share price, oil and gas changes and business activity changes !!

Scoopusave, deal not guaranteed to go ahead unfortunately, but hope it does. Wonder how much current share price is up due to the possible deal and how much due to the recent rise in commodity prices !!
