Despite IAG statement re applying the 'lost' €75m,, how really likely is it though that a future purchase will take place for €500m because as economies improve again then any purchase price would also increase by probably more than the €75m ?

Totally agree Wellington99, initial case damages in N.A. are extortionate possibly because it forces the side being penalised to have to exhaustingly do a lot of the detailed work that the judge should have done in the first place, just like a tax authority sending out a tax assessment forcing the tax payer to do most of the work to pay a fair amount !!

I had shares in Ferrexpo FXPO, Ukrainian iron ore miner, in 2015 when their sp collapsed over an investment the miner had in a dodgy bank. The sp fell back to below 10p amid total panic, it is now many multiples of that. I'm holding, don't think CINE will go bust, as I've suggested maybe best option for CINE now is just go ahead with the takeover if legally possibly even if funds need to be raised, etc... This is by no means dead in the water.

All, don't know all the details re this case, especially the counter case that CINE brought, but would it be less damaging for CINE to just say let's do our original deal ? Legally, would latter be possible still because it would put both companies in position they are deemed by Ontario Court to have agreed ? I realise the pandemic has affected things, but materially maybe a better solution, Cineplex could hardly refuse given that they brought a case on basis that the takeover shd have taken place. Yes, reusing cheap masks is not ideal, that's why P2f -type high quality, and I accept not cheap, masks are recommended. The other recommended behaviours of physical distancing, sanitising and vaccinating, and also testing are also needed, so it is the combination of all these that determine the speed of spread of the virus. Another which is very difficult to quantify is the genetic healthiness of a population group, eg if more smoke, are obese, are older, less vaccinated, have more underlying illnesses, have less good diets, are genetically less strong, etc.. then the virus will harm them more. Guess the latter is why the scientists find this scenario so difficult to convince people to do their recommended behaviours, so many variables !!
Anyways, hope nnn sp goes up nicely this week, just saw that the Irish govt want all schools and others to have adequate air filtration systems, hope our Mr Duffin is marketing to Ireland as well as a close neighbour !!

Erwbus55, masks are just one of a few behaviours that are required to slow the spread of Covid or any similar virus. Physical distancing, vaccination, washing/sanitising are also part of the behaviours required.

Maybe I'm completely naive, and also more self disciplined and independently thinking than most others, but given the current pandemic status, I really struggle to understand why so-called intelligent people need to be repeatedly told legally to behave in a manner that is best for both their safety and that of others around them. Watching soccer highlights last night, very few of those attending the matches, maybe 2 or 3%, wore a mask. We as humans are responsible for our own behaviour, but as far as I can see, most wait for the orders from the great leaders on how to behave, Boris ???!!! I assess a situation myself from the news, etc..., and act in a healthy manner accordingly. I currently wear a mask and keep required distance from others even outside in any crowded streets, the behaviour of others doesn't influence me at all ( if anything I view others non-compliance as sad and unintelligent). I have also been fully vaccinated, again totally my own decision based upon all the news on the pandemic. What are your thoughts on this area, nothing like a lively Sunday discussion ?!!

Heid, How dare you speak to me like that, I posted in good faith, politely, simply to inform. David Bramhill is the common factor for HAWK and UJO and what happened at HAWK could also very well happen here. I have no shareholding here and if you lose or gain matters not to me.

I used to be a shareholder of Nighthawk Energy (HAWK), a small O&E operator with a prospect in the USA, before it went bust years ago. It too was set up and run by David Bramhill. Can see this share is well down on its 52wk high of 41p so be careful, some entrepreneurs, though they do their best, are just not good enough, as it is with literally every skill and profession out there.
