Hi, does anyone know if there is a different Tax Treatment of shareholders of Shell Companies to the normal shareholding ?

So why does SSE refuse to 'breakout'well above £16 ? It is a 100% Renewable Energy utility so oil price shouldn't affect it except for impact on wind turbine investment. Cannot understand the sp wild swings here, 2% down today whilst the UK Govt raised the utility price cap yesterday, surely that's a positive for SSE !!??

An article recently by Bloomberg says that businesses like CMCX are doing very well profit-wise from all the current market volatility so I feel the current sp weakness is down to investors not realising how good CMCX is as an investment, of course currently because it is dropping it isn't a good investment, but value-wise it is good. Patience needed !! I'm invested also in BATS and IMB and the former especially is now outperforming after 19 months !!

Steven, disagree with you. The sp is materially down on its recent years' highs, that is enough to show that there's a way to go yet to get back to the top. Every business has some plonkers, as does every country - I'm sure you know who I refer to.... - higher profile businesses than BAB have lazy CEO's and Chairmen, why has the Active Investor strategy become more common recently ?!! You may recall RBS buying ABN Ambro soon before the 2008-2009 Financial Crash and over paying billions for it, then the UK Govt had to step in to save it. Tesco's adventure into USA cost it over £1b, RSA nearly went bust in 2003 over asbestos claims, etc...These FTSE100 cos are much higher profile than BAB. The janitors in some of these cos would make better decisions, not demeaning janitors but just to show a difference in perceived abilities. Many analysts have sp targets well above current sp, and they meet mgt and analyse the co., so I'll put my faith in them !! Recent results are also very encouraging as is the industry within which BAB operates.

This, whatever status it holds, is becoming an egg shell !!?

Very unprofessional not to have SHEL set up for Opening today, II Ap doesn't show it at all. Staff shd have worked over weekend to have things ready. We're not talking a low value AIM Stock here.

Davidspellacy, I believe you can claim back from Spanish Tax Auth the IAG Spanish wht on div if you know about the required method which has to be done fairly soon after deduction

stu100, agree with you. Maybe the nurses should buy BP, RDSB/A and maybe SSE or similar, a great way to hedge the higher fuel and utility costs ???!!! A special tax on oilies' profits would be discriminatory. Why not special tax other businesses when they make exceptional profits, eg Builders for last few years ? Hope Barclays sp target of 700p crystalises this year !

Agree threeput, volatility must be materially increasing CMCX profits and if the business splits up then more value will be generated for patient lt shareholders !!

Robina, we've all done similar to you. I bought into PSN at 2522p recently thinking I got a good price !! Now it's nearly 200p lower due to 'cladding' and mortgage rate risks though their exposure to former is v low, they have a v large order book and are managing input costs v sell prices. Brokers also favour them + TW v other builders. So I'll be topping up at a certain point as I'm not Day Trader material !! PHNX will benefit you well over a few years, eg div alone should be nearly 20%, a great income share to forget about !!

papucel, PHNX is my 2nd highest holding and I won't be selling anytime soon. Their cash generation is increasing as their aum holdings increase. They have a top div and are very defensive in bearish markets. The thing is, in business who can you trust ???

Well done Albert, nice to hear of gains, you're playing with a lot for one share. Mine is spread over 10 shares. The sp bounced off 400p today, obviously sell orders at that level. I believe this share will go well over 400p in next few months though with decline of Covid, summer travel, etc...even with inflation and interest rates. So hope you buy back in cheaper enough to make more dosh !!

So bottzup we might see only 10p tomorrow ?
