Fordm, I think some here argue with you due to your directly cited strong views contrary to their own. I used to be a US citizen because my father was such who was born there and fought for the US as a US naval officer. I renounced my US citizenship in 2019 and am glad to have done so given the obnoxious dominating politics now in the US. My father, if still alive, would be ashamed at what the US has now become with it's dishonourable disrespectful dishonest lawlacking Trump Administration surrounded by a group of mostly wimpish individuals. My US ancestry goes all the way back to c. 1800 and I am proud of that, however the US today has become toxic. The US attacked Iran first, and very violently killing many innocent children and adults, and they deserve what they get. So you can see that some here agree with your views albeit, though I am also very much against the current Iranian regime, I think the US regime is just as bad in different measures. We may find out eventually how much US Admin members have gained financially from this Iran war as there have been some suspicious Market transactions just before Trump's recent TACO's !!

" If latter is true then why is the petrol and diesel price much higher at the US service stations and US residents are protesting about increases in inflation !!? The Fed Reserve may even increase interest rates this year rather than the two previously forecast reductions !! The Oil price is a Global one so if the Straits of Hormuz remain virtually closed then the Oil price remains high globally and adversely affects US consumers because their petrol and diesel and other prices are also relatively higher !!

Sorry, instead of "...must do their part to ease the burden on the oil and gas companies affected" meant "must be given compensation to ease their burden"
