I was trying to be positive RichKen, but agree we should draw a line under this now and focus on the future. Bemused by current SP, but not surprised. Been invested quite a while now and witnessed many long periods of stasis/downward manipulation.

Re-rates have rarely been linked to an RNS, but manipulation independent of that. I'm expecting the same again. IMO, a lot of LTHs are jumping on the back of our tame seller and deliberately dragging the SP down. At some point they'll no doubt join a raft of investors watching and waiting for the next entry point.

To respond to some comments on my post yesterday. I am aware the company needs to increase its production numbers, and missed targets are not going to be well-received by the markets. However, what I wanted to get across is that because BMN are only a few years into this project, such errors are permissible to some extent and that should be somewhat factored in.

What's more important is that the company will learn from this going forward. Mokopane and Brits are huge projects - once the licenses are accepted I'm sure there they'll face more challenges in raising estimated production numbers up to 10,000 mtv and beyond. I'm pretty sure any mistakes made now will ensure future communications are more appropriate. In the big scheme of things, there's little, if anything, to complain about.

IMO there's too much focus on production targets being missed compared to what has been achieved. Yes, FM was over-optimistic and did not foresee maintenance issues and this has resulted in a minor drop in production. However, it seems somewhat absurd to me that this takes all the focus and not the outstanding YoY revenue increase of $113.1m?

It's like criticising NASA for putting a man on the moon because they used too much fuel.

It also seems a bit rich to criticise FM for over-egging the numbers when practically every forecast on here over-eggs the numbers. If he's been naive, so have we.

Perhaps we should take into account that this is a young and maturing company in a growth stage cycle and there will be reporting errors and setbacks, and therefore factor in a drop in production figures as a plausible outcome rather than an irregularity. Not just now, but in future.

The growth strategy is what's supposed to entice them, not some knock-off shares. We want quality investors that believe in the project - those looking for a discounted entry point end up being tame sellers.

A target means something you are aiming towards, i.e. trying to do or achieve, so I don't see how FM can be criticised for failing to meet one, especially in the context of the company's overall performance. If he explicitly claimed "we will achieve x, y, z production figures" and failed, that would be different.

That the company should suffer a 10% drop on a 'hiccup' despite such incredible financial progress reeks of share manipulation to me.

Wolf in sheep's clothing if there ever was one. I've warned many times that some LTH's have an agenda, driven by pure greed. Its not for me to tell people what to do with their shares, but I'd simply warn against trusting their motives.

Most 'shorters' aren't very clever about how they attempt to drive the SP down - their behavoiur is laughably transparent, be more wary of those who use their undoubted knowledge to foster a culture of negativity - these individuals are particularly exploitative.
