RE: bought out18 Nov 2018 17:47
The way I see it, until VRFBs prove themselves to be a fixed state, long-term solution for the renewable energy sector, BMN's cash generation is limited to a volatile commodity that's able to generate serious cash in the short-to-medium term (3-5 years?), but little else.
Only when BMN has proved itself in the uptake and adoption of VRFB technology will it become an attractive enough target, and by that point you would like to think it would already be part of a scaled-up, multi-billion dollar industry and making insane profits.
Ask yourself what the SP would be by that point, and what sort of offer would be needed to buy it out? Also think about why, with that sort of cash generation, it's unreasonable to ascertain that the shoe might not be on the other foot and BMN starts acquiring its competitors instead.
I've no idea how this will play out, but I don't think the above is an unreasonable proposition.
