Why did I invest in this dog? There seems to be a distinct lack of communication/consideration for investors here, which does not bode well.

The RNS shows the model can work, but even if they have a profitable month or quarter that doesn't make HUD investable. The question is, how do they scale? They're not making products, they're relying on surplus inventory and clearance inventory, which makes the business model inherently unpredictable in terms of sourcing. For me, this is still bust rather than boom.

So Peeko is selling 24 x 57g Bounty Bars for £14.99. That's 60p each. Meanwhile, Poundstretchers sell a pack of 4 x 57g for £2.00 = 50p each.

You also have to pay £3.99 postage at Peeko if you're spending under £50.

Icecool - are you a moron or just argumentative? I'm simply saying that the LFT gave credence to Avacta as a company. Having produced the best LFT in the world, it was clear they had strong underlying scientific capability and a higher chance of producing other breakthrough therapeutics.

I think you'll find that Avacta was developing AVA6000 and the AffiDX lateral flow test platform simultaneously. I stayed in, because I felt the LFT was an endorsement of the company.

How was the LFT a disaster? AffiDX LFT showed 98% accuracy, while the UK-backed Innova test detected only 40% of PCR-positive asymptomatic infections overall. The FDA even issued a warning advising people to stop using China's Innova tests because of regulatory concerns.

Avacta's LFT was a stunning success and the SP quite correctly rose massively on the assumption that the UK govt would commercialise AffiDX over Innova - until we realised the UK govt was corrupt.

At this point I'd take the endorsement and ensuing dilution of a licensee over "we've had talks blah blah, but nothing came of it", which more likely reads as "no-one's interested so we'll keep going cap in hand to investors."

It's not a bad RNS per se, but where's the short-term incentive to hold? Phase 3 will take years with multiple dilutions along the way no doubt. This now typifies an all-or-nothing, bottom-of-the-sock-draw investment.

If true, that would be a bit tragic. The TrustPilot reviews for the Mystery Boxes aren't great - comes across like they're just trying to get rid of leftover leftovers and throwing in a prize to sweeten the deal. However, the statistical average spend to even win a Spa is £50k - it's not shopping, it's gambling. This will run out of steam IMO. They have to get postage down from £50 to £15-20, because they don't carry enough quality products yet to justify the extra spend - alcohol might change that.

My biggest problem with Peeko is the postage fees. The bulk packs look cheap, but once shipping is added they often land at the same or higher price than supermarkets. The free shipping threshold is 2–4 x higher than the natural spend of a 'bargain hunter'. Ultimately, shoppers are better off cruising around for a supermarket deal.

They still need to do a lot to make this investible, but it's not impossible.

Rolling 3 brands into 1 makes sense considering they were acquisitions and not part of a brand diversification strategy, but the name change is baffling. Even for a digital platform, rebranding is a big expense and unlike Discount Dragons, Peeko tells you nothing about the brand.

The director drop downs could be benign, but could equally signify disagreement on the rebrand and a contractual obligation to stick around for a short period.

There's an air of desperation here IMO.

How does anyone know it's proved profitable for you? Even if you attempted to prove your trades were profitable, you would only submit profitable trades not losses, and why would anyone trust someone who's proven to be disingenuous, argumentative and talks rubbish all time?

There's simply no point in claiming profitability and expecting people to believe it - unless you're narcissist (tick) or an idiot (tick).

Yeah, let's commercialise before we collect more groundbreaking data - that's a good idea, said nobody ever. If the data's garbage, I don't think the directors would be investing at this point, do you? And this doesn't stop an imminent deal either - big pharma could press the button at any data point, and knowing AVCT are funded means they're not desperate to accept a lowball bid.

Yep, some individual is selling into every rise. How much longer is anyone's guess as not a lot of liquidity here.
