Yes, I've read that. Apparently, Mastermines on Twitter claims to have visited the site recently and says it's not the only delayed VRFB project.

Seems like the Rongke Power VRFB project has been put into hibernation due to high V205 prices.

Where's your evidence Rongke Power's VRFB project is on hold? In November it was reported everything was proceeding as planned.

Not true. They short everything and anything to make short-term profit. IC is either completely ignorant about trading practises or covering for institutions. There's also the moral question, which is totally ignored.

Still, as most people who have read it soon realise, IC is to finance what Mens Health is to fitness.

BMN is actively looking for institutional investors, so paying a dividend would attract income, not lose it.

Unfortunately, when news is late people become suspicious. Instead of thinking about what great news is coming, they imagine bad news is being held back.

Having said that, if the next news if late but great, parity will be restored.

In the meantime, FM has 13 working days to outline his dividend policy.

If BMN don't get any of the Eskom tender, I don't see the SP going anywhere for a long time. That will be regarded as particularly bad news and the shorters and MMs will no-doubt get their claws in and trash the share.

Let's be brutally honest, if BE cannot prove the viability of VRFBs in SA, what chance elsewhere? And to say BE is not priced in is nonsense. How many current holders would be enthusiastic, let alone invested, if BE didn't exist?

With that in mind predictions of £5-£10 are completely OTT at this point in time. On the other hand, if BE do grab a share of those contracts, all bets are off. It seems FM is quietly confident, and with his track record, who am I to disagree?

Thanks for your endorsement waccy. Betamax had 25% market share. Imagine that? The only vertically integrated vanadium miner in the world getting the lion's share of contracts for 25% of the worldwide renewable battery revolution. Reckon that would create a multi-billion dollar company and make me a millionaire within 5-10 years.

Alpha, I wasn't looking for them to mention VRFBs in preference to Lithium-ion, just mentioning them would be good enough for me. The optimistic investor in me agrees that BE has an outstanding opportunity, the pessimist investor says it's too good to be true for any share I've invested in.

The only thing missing is FM's strategy - until then we're left grasping at the potential. Where in these presidential speeches are VRFBs specifically mentioned as a key solution? We need meat on the bones of BE's plan to reveal how locally sourced vanadium will make VRFBs cost competitive to lithium-ion.

I'm aware that these technologies do not need to compete on every front, with both being independently suited to a range of scenarios, but lithium-ion has such a firm grip on the battery market. I can't truly get excited until FM reveals how he intends to break the barriers.

My comment was a little blase. If BMN get ANY of that tender, it's a fantastic opportunity to prove the model and scale it up. And like you, I'm confident they will get it, and that will be the first step in the road to proving the technology and scaling it throughout SA and beyond.

However, as you previously suggest, like any investment, we are mere witnesses to that process. I'm optimistic based on everything we know today - and that optimism only increases every time FM opens his mouth. Perhaps the pessimistic investor in me dare not dream of the life-changing financial potential here.

I slightly disagree about whether BE is currently priced in. Obviously there are not many IIs with skin in the game at present, but most current investors have surely foreseen the potential of BE and are invested for that very reason. This is AIM, and it cannot be lost on anyone that BE is the 10/20 bagger that most investors crave.

Eskom is the model that will prove whether VRFBs are deliverable and scalable. Get (most) of that tender in the bag and there's nothing stopping the SP from being whatever it wants to be. Fail, however, and BMN will get hammered.

That's not to say there doesn't remain huge value in BV or the BE future model, but it would be a serious kick in the knackers.
