RE: Share price17 May 2024 15:50
I hear those that have seen a modest rise only to take another hit soon after. Hands up that when we broke through 9 and then 11 late last year I didn't think we would go sub 9 again. To me that was significant as my average was about 8.5 at the time (it's now less). There are those still laughing at the SP being a fifth if what it was but this is an unusual share for me.
There are some lucky enough to have bought early and although they rode the highs back down to these lows they are still in good profit. Me? Like a fair few I bought a modest amount t with the hype near the all time high. But you know what? I averaged down because I could not correlate the lack of sentiment with the obvious asset and the strength ING of the path to production. We hit spanners in the works with both Newcrest and Newmont but whereas with other stocks I've bailed, with this I've increased my holding. I'm not over extended in the sense that if it goes belly up I'll still be OK, but truthfully I have a lot in this. I am very near break even again and any movement like we've seen today adds thousands to my portfolio even if I'm marginally underwater. For the honest decent folk on here this kind of rise is to be celebrated even if we have realistic caution. My belief is any knock back will be short lived. Massive congratulations to those who have hung in there. The trolls have by and large kept off the chat for now and that says everything. A little more uptick before earth moving news will be excellent. Then bring on the ASX!
