Fidelity haven't even restored ordinary trading yet. Not as though my sold funds have settled anyway to buy more. I'm rather selfishly having to hope this remains low until I get a buying opportunity

As a shift worker I've had my phone off from an hour or so before the RNS's until now. So this is all news to me. When the shares were suspended following the leak I pretty much immediately sold some other funds to potentially buy more if I was able to do so cheaply. With a 5 day settlement period these funds aren't going to be available to me tomorrow. I don't how much spare cash others have hanging around these days but mine is normally working for me. I'm a bit miffed to miss the boat. I've yet to absorb a lot of this but the timescales aren't on my side as far as I can see. I'll just have to see how the market reacts I guess.

I've cashed in a bit from a tech fund in my ISA wrapper today that had done well or me for a couple of years, just so funds clear in case I want to use that cash to buy more GGP. Devil is always in the detail and of course on SP movement once the suspension is lifted, but I'm pleased to have the option all ready to go.

Good luck Cheltenham Flyer! The delay hasn't been great for me and my plans with money tied up for longer than I hoped but it's all about adaptability, never overreaching and being able to react as best we can on changing news!

I think I'm going to sell some of my other funds just to have some extra cash available should us existing shareholders get some preferable terms. Just in case. Next in line will hopefully be news that remediation work on the railings dam has been signed off and guaranteed. Gives me a bit of time to tinker with my finances

Agreed Schlemiel. That is why we are investors speculating on risk vs reward. There are doomongers spouting about dilution etc. That is not the only path but even if it forms part (note 'part') of the path, it is all about placing us in an unassailably strong position. Many diluted companies bounce back to their original SP within days anyway. It's all about the deal. There is no way we can do this without giving something away as you say. I'm content with someone else getting a small slice of the pie to give us control.

What also excites me is all the other prospectivity on Telfer's doorstep. There is so much more ahead than Havieron under this acquisition. It will take time to appreciate just how much.

Chabuddy the answer was contained in the RNS: “ until such time as the admission document in relation to the possible acquisition and fundraising have been published in compliance with AIM Rule 14."

I'm pleased that finally we're on a trajectory that permits the faithful (those that held) to cut loose those that bailed and/or simply trolled. Time will tell how this plays out but finally we are close to knowing for sure. I'm comfortable with the skin I have in this game. Good luck all

Ah well a three post 'no' has confirmed my inability to broker a peace deal and I've failed miserably. Freddie, you must have twigged who I was referring to when you continually cite that SD should be doing more but somehow never quite state what. As Culpepper has declined to you fancy the one post a day thing instead? 😉

I think Dip's post of yesterday summed up my own feelings. Events have been less than ideal in terms of the current stagnation, though we all hope the resulting deal will ultimately outshine anything we might have gained were we simply mining as a junior partner. I understand people trawling websites and social media of people or organisations I've never heard of, but unless anything properly sourced and referenced comes up then Dip is on the money. I will wait for year end or even new year for news as per Newmont's timescale. We know remedial works are ongoing and personally I would prefer they are completed. Assuming we get the deal then I would rather we have the processing plant rolling from day one. A much stronger position to be in not least with all the other activity close to Telfer. Anything else feeds the idiots who think SD can somehow patch up a tailings dam, pump a bit of water from the aquifer, do a bit of digging, dictate the terms of a deal to Newmont and pay us all the mother of all dividends from next week.

Footnote to Culpepper. You are extremely repetitive. By way of brokering a peace deal, could I suggest you read all your posts by visiting your profile and pick the most eloquent one. One without any bitterness if you can find one. Could we agree that you put up that one post at the start of each day and then post no more until the same time the next day? It will save you time and us a groundhog day. Day after day after day. We might even smile and say "here's good old Culpepper", his post is done. See you tomorrow you little tinker you.

Yep not saying there won't be other tax rises whether stealthy or not (that's a given). I'm not going transfer anything out of my ISA at present though

Speedie, with average returns of 10% that would mean anyone invested for just over 4 years would be over the limit if they had put 20k in each year. That would make ISA's for long term savings virtually impossible. I can't see it personally but I'll keep my eyes open. If that ends up being the case then people of working age may be best advised to look at their SIPP's or AVC's if they can lock their savings in to a retirement vehicle. I personally think that would affect far too many 'ordinary' people and surely it couldn't just wipe off the tax benefit on day dot. Look at the notice they had to give on pension age increases etc.

My friends dodgy ipad keeps sending unintelligible posts (21 and counting) since he put it down this morning and vowed not to use it until Tuesday. Is there anything he can do about it short of smashing the blasted thing into tiny little pieces and sending the processor to landfill in a dustcart? Done the same on HE1 and the SP gained 40% right after. This aquifer stuff is desperate. My money is on the ponds being used for water management as the decline progresses not because we need another year of pumping before we resime. Time will tell. Yep. GGP long term holder here also. Put smallish punt on here about a week ago. Nothing silly but a little cash in profit from a different holding as a highly speculative punt really. It will be interesting to observe the sentiment as things settle.

I used to be quite happy hearing divergent arguments over the merits of what we have and the way forward, but I've realised this board echoes the way almost every other issue gets digested these days. Grains of truth morph into twisted lies made by the few. You don't have to look far to realise that this way of being is not only disruptive but potentially dangerous.. Apologies for occasionally being suckered in to the sewer but it's time for me to stop posting, just drop in to browse occasionally and leave the truth twisters to their silly games. Oh yes and as Dip mentioned, there are also the Telfer issues. Let's get the deal done when completely satisfied it's fixed hey? Fair trade off to get Telfer in pristine condition for a couple more months delay to the decline imo.
