Difficult one to get your head around - and the market has acting accordingly It seems that each update is laced with a variance of 'subject toos' and the market don't like what the market can't assess It makes amer more speculative than fundamental and I think this is why it hasn't re rated I still think this is way underrated but until we get more certain comments from the board, and perhaps a long period of time producing + 7k this isn't going to budge significantly
market seems distinctly unimpressed. these oilies (and particularly the case with AMER) are way behind the up tick in poo - difficult to know whether there are other factors at play in addition to what we know with our seller, the shorts and anxiety about social and political unrest (and impromptu papal visits) - but unless OPEC change their course, or lose control - or inventories swell as winter turns to summer in the US - these stocks and in particular AMER has to fly. I do believe the 7k target is a test here for management - a test in the sense if they can achieve this the SP is likely to shift as there have been too many missed targets and excuses that has perhaps not encouraged decent institutional investment. It looks for all money they will and may possibly exceed this. nearly 12 months on from OBA going on line - we are so much further ahead. POO much higher - we are producing - assets look good - future opportunities in the 'pipe' (forgive pun) and we ae trading 30% LOWER. this has to be + 35p (not ramping just stating case based on above facts) - I think this will break out soon, and will probably tie in with oil exploration companies rallying too.
I'll be interested to see tonorrrows SP direction Can see our old friend coming in and smashing the bid. This is still way undervalued, but I guesss there is some scepticism which is why this hasn't really re rated yet There is an expectation that they give a bit and they take a bit..
Honestly you can ignore the Barclays analysts - I'm afraid the sp behaving like his indicates short term problems in my view It may well be it recovers in time but this share has been the dog of all dogs for the past 5 years Market sentiment might well change in medium to long term but they have failed beyond believe with acquisitions and explorations - the list is too long
Got most out months ago and can't believe how poorly this is doing Just by the slide something has gone wrong with the agreement due this qtr. Hold tight for me sheet to hit the fan
Agree - real game playing Good steady rise in SP - then hit the bid and the sp drifts back All dissapointing
agree Bakoven - particularly with AMER. any sniff of the brown stuff (of which there was plenty) they will sell off. As far as the broker recs are concerned - you can totally ignore them - they change their mind like the wind... ping in a donkeys tail. i'd go as far to say do the opposite of what they suggest!
don't think the market has particularly liked that rather average RNS not sure they should be highlighting the papal visit (one off) as a collective reason for slow down either
Not a massive amount of new information - Confirms what we know about reduced output
i have like most been feeling very uncomfortable with the information flow here from directors, and the SP manipulation downwards. I know its AIM but it has been very bad here. 6 months ago (maybe longer) with Oil at circa 45 and when the OBA was not even functional this was 26p ish... on announcing the opening it jumped into the 30s... we are now sitting on 6K per day at cira 55--58 with Mariposa news around the corner... Still feeling uncomfortable with cash burn but we should be well ahead of where we are now.
A persistent seller here I'm afraid Hold on tight
GL to everyone else on here. I'm out.
Below 68 and we may have a problem. That might be might lot.
i really do ignore 90% of the upgrades/downgrades... its like a giant circle which they all go continually around. interesting they have all posted negative (relative to previous outlooks) on this news. Yes it provides certainly on one hand, but in my view failure to deliver on another. I haven't sold yet because its not official but i am sorely tempted. Cash will be bleed at a rapid rate if they dont come up with one. seriously. the market will respond accordingly. I am not a negative poster as a general rule of thumb (if you feel that way you shouldn't be in the stock generally) but this has got my goat.
my thoughts exactly. this sounds like they are softening up the market. no point waiting for an RNS telling us the same. They stated in Apr that there were several interested partners lined up following the last debacle.
agree. I am really not interested in the first gas production figures.. punting on NG prices in the future with a bumpy global economic ride in the interim. In todays world we should be looking to mitigate risk (which in the long run may be slightly detrimental to SHs) by joining up with a partner. if productions etc prices are down, grind out a more favourable deal now then. I've been here for way too long to be waiting another 5 years +. fund a partner on fav terms and speed up exploration which is freed up by on boarding partner. pay back long term shareholders. My finger is hovering over the sell button.
not sure what to make of this. I don't think that the market will like an RNS stating that Ophir intends to go alone with this project. It will be perceived to be a much higher risk venture.
sit tight mate. it will come back. no volume (again) so its trading on resistance. I'd stop looking at it for a few weeks.
When the Fortuna / Sch deal fell through management stated a suitor would be found (in negotiations with others) and they were confident of a q4 announcement. Since then NG through the roof and oil nicely rebounded - test for management to deliver here. Hopefully this is under the radar
Agree - real frustration too. It appears to be all about this Fortuna project. No action is killing this share. The market wants news - either find a partner on good terms or sell it. Doing nothing is seen as untenable thus a cash burn Year end for me.
