yep, discoveries to date has been very poor. i guess its about the perceived value in the Thai basin.. if PTT is the bidder they will be taking a punt in the area... some interest from a big name like shell might get this towards 200p. Beyond might be a struggle as the reason for such a hight share price 18 months was on the potential discoveries that SMDR were working on at the time which turned out to be non starters.
If the deal isn't right they may elect to simply sell off some of their Thai assets.. Given recent discoveries in the area this will add sp value Hopefully this rallies later in the day.. More on the bid currently
Agreed. Be interesting to see what names come up.. And how much interest.. Presumably the more interest the higher the offer price
This will be an interesting ride... Someone knew something at the cob last night.. Predictions? 180 by close would be nice!
something brewing here
250K?
big buy this afternoon...
why lots of trading Giuseppe?
perhaps some news is round the corner.. volume up, but not huge. or an uptick on the back of shell's discovery... i hope we can stay above 120 and test new resiatance levels.. anyone got any thoughts...
you're not wrong Wobbs... this is near and bodes very well for Salamander Royal Dutch Shell PLC has made a natural gas discovery with the Rosmari-1 well, which was drilled 135 km offshore Malaysia on Block SK318. The well, drilled to a total depth of 2,123 m, encountered a 450-m gas column. Shell said the discovery is a positive indicator of the gas potential in the area. “This adds to Shell’s sequence of recent exploration successes in Malaysia, with these discoveries expanding the company’s heartlands positions,” said Iain Lo, Shell Malaysia chairman. Last month, Sabah Shell Petroleum Co. Ltd. (SSPC) let a contract to Flowserve Corp. for supply of custom designed water injection and liquid transfer pumps for the Malikai oil field project 68 miles offshore Sabah, Malaysia (OGJ Online, Mar. 6, 2014). Shell operates Block SK318 with 85% interest. Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd. holds the remaining interest.
thanks for that., gotya. hoping that this starts to move on fundamentals. the last few weeks despite broadly positve news has seen no real upside action
i'd like to agree, but cant see how you have got to that
Mms having a field day aren't they.. Curious old game...
Difficult to know what's going on behind the scenes... Alot of these stocks have taken a hammering to be fair...
Cheers wobbs.. Explains the measured selling virtually on a day by day basis.. Mms keeping the ship steady.. Lets see this thing start up its engines
I think we're about to find out...
Large sell today and no director buying.. Nervous times for salamander shareholders
There is an obvious reason (which has been clearly forgotten).. The real value long term in this share was to do with its potential value on its Thai assets that were explored at the end of last year.. These turned out to be dry or inaccessible' which put alot of potential long term institutional investors off... The same can be said for wk1 where clearly there is value, but at a large cost to the company...
interestibg to see the consistent buy ratings on this stock over the past year, with ridiculous bullish numbers.. these have been gradually reduced to a share price range that Salamander have sat in over the past 12 months, which means for the majority of people who have been in this stock for 16 months or more stand only to minimalise losses... the only option is to average down (dreadful expression i know) and buy more at these levels. the problem is the market is fed up with this stock, risk stocks are beign avoided in the current conditions...
baffled by this.. market clearly not impressed with any of this news.. given we are in procuction already i dont see why this is still so low
