What cannot be factored into anyone's equation's is the capacity for OPEC+ and US shale to **** things up - as we have seen for the last six years or so.
All the while supply exceeds demand the price of Brent will stay depressed - how long that lasts answers your question.

My view is that hydrogen fuel cells will be adopted by lorries, coaches and buses first, then vans, before eventually evolving to cars.

Its not practical to claim the waters back - most of the fish caught goes to Europe and the European Fishermen would simply blockade the ports.
Also many European boats land their catches at UK ports so by restricting them from UK waters our fishing ports would probably go bust - the UK fleet could never fill the gap.
And, many UK fishermen, especially in England, sold their fishing quotas to European Fishermen - another big complication.
It has to be sorted.
I agree that we will probably end up with a 5 mile limit - great news for our day boats and for those of us who love fish - fish consumed or blast frozen within a few hours of being caught is magnificent.

Maybe the bottom line is that the market simply doesn't trust OPEC+ - and with reason!

The numbers for Kraken loads have only ever been a guestimate based mainly on the time taken for the hook-up.
Looking at the draught of shuttle tankers doesn't help - we tried that on the early loads - because it is always unclear how much ballast is aboard.

It was much easier when the loads were heading for the US because the destination ports could only accept tankers of a certain size but since then we have had loads for Rotterdam and Singapore - it is much more difficult to be accurate.

I can see that I have messed up with Navion Oslo - she has a smaller capacity - but most of the other tankers can accommodate 500k loads.

Readers should only take the load size quoted as a guestimate and wait for the actual reported loads for use in working out finances.

I think that reaction to the Pfizer vaccine news gave us a good indication of where the market is heading over the next few months.
Investors saw a recovery in retail and leisure but although oil stocks rose off the bottom they only recovered their losses since the summer.
Therefore, I conclude that investors don't yet see the anticipated rise in Brent and that maybe we will have to wait until well into 2021 for a real recovery in oil prices.
As you say its all about timing - personally I think we have some way to go yet and we may see another drift down this winter before the inevitable spike - the latest from OPEC isn't encouraging.

It certainly wouldn't be prudent to sell the other 50% of Ocado Retail until revenue started rolling in from abroad - especially Kroger.
When the revenue flow starts to come in from tech, the whole financial picture for Ocado will start to change.
Also, even without ownership of Ocado Retail there will still be a regular revenue flow and as the business gains market share the regular revenue increases - another reason to have a mid-market player on board.

Fishing is the area of compromise and also where the UK has bargaining power - if, as reported, that is the only area that needs discussion then hopefully we should soon have a deal.

My assumption - and I could well be wrong - is that the price of oil is a lagging indicator and that we will have to see a general macro recovery before POO starts to move and then oil stocks follow.

I don't think that you can accuse Ocado of lack of vision - they have come an awfully long way in just 20 years.

As I understand it the deal would just be for the brand and some of the top people not for any retail outlets.
So if M&S Directors feel there is potential then it would seem to be a good deal - probably for not much cash.
I doubt it would make much difference to the current SP, but anything that boosts the clothing division has to be good news for the long term.

I certainly agree that we are approaching the point where OPEC+ will have more or less total control of the price of Brent but we are not there yet.
At the moment, because of the basic greed of individual members they are unable to cut production enough to bring supply down and price up - so they are a liability.
At some point this will change because as output falls around the world OPEC+ members will find by default that they control the market and by small scale manipulation to just about match supply to demand they can increase the price of crude substantially.
They will off course get greedy and try and hike the price too high bringing more supply online and boosting renewables but by that time we should have all made some money.
Personally, I remain on the side-lines until the supply and demand are more balanced.

I think the fact that Ceres are in partnership with Weichai - a large Chinese owned company - will insulate them from any problems they may potentially encounter.

This is why I think that Ocado will sell the other 50% of Ocado to a middle market player - it will bring in more capital to build more CFC's benefiting Ocado Solutions and M&S will be able to grow market share and profit without purchasing the other 50%.

SCF Ural is now on her way to Suez - looking like another Brent Premium load on the way to Singapore.
