Its simply the capital spend that Ocado needs as a growth company, most company shareholders would baulk at that, they would need jam today, not tomorrow.

One of the main reasons why Christmas slots run out so fast is simply that customers order much more at Christmas, therefore, vans can make fewer drops, hence less slots - I guess the number of vans that Ocado would need to totally satisfy demand would be totally uneconomic.

Basically if you are a customer you have to get in quick - that will always be the case.

Don't underestimate the improvements that M&S have made to M&S.com - combined with Ocado, I think that M&S are now well able to give Next a run for their money online.
Also food and wine on M&S.com adds an extra dimension and drives the clicks.

A good debate here and one that needs to be aired to a wider audience.

The oil majors are being vilified, but in actual fact as Shell boss Ben van Beurden says they actually hold the key to the shift away from fossil fuels.

Some of profits they make from oil and gas can be invested into developing renewables and nuclear.

The money has to come from somewhere and its just a natural transition - instead of developing new oil fields they move to develop renewables or nuclear.

Shareholders in big oil, especially the institutions, need to oversee this process, not walk away, and its up to smaller oil companies to find ways where they can follow the mayors.

There are no listed shares left to be sold - so no TRX shares.
All the assets left are non listed and maybe property - hence the long time delay.
Last I heard they wanted to wind the fund up early in 2022 but not hopeful.

I guess the fall today is just the normal AIM volatility seen on a red day without much recent news from TRX.

Fuel calls powered by natural gas produce very low emissions - that might be a way forward for Kraken.

Its difficult to see the viability of getting electricity to Kraken and Magnus - remember these electrification projects are reliant on public funding and sanctioning.

The two areas currently under study by the OAG to get electrification have compelling reasons to supply - Southern North Sea has lots of rigs lose together and West of Shetland is newly developing fields.

It could just be that other fields outside these two zones will simply be left to continue production but no new development will be possible in these areas. Not de-ramping , just being realistic. Its all in the hands of the Government not AB.

One last thought on electrification.
The OAG seems intent on electrification in the southern sector of the North Sea where there are a multitude of fields and West of Shetland, where there is new development planned.

But they don't seem to have plans for other areas yet - we need to keep an eye on this - Kraken and Magnus could be left without provision.

Yes certainly agree regarding Bressay electrification.

Emissions for AK also have to be reduced, starting 2030 - no idea how and what the consequences will be if they are not reduced.

If AK cannot be used for Bressay it totally changes CAPEX - maybe even makes Bressay unviable???

Maybe we are getting to the root cause of the low SP?????

But if a big player makes a bid then that would all change - I guess DP would keep his job.

Yes it is a long way off Kraken but planning for it will be necessary a long way in advance - AB would have to include his plans in the Government audit by 2023.

NS Oil companies have an obligation to start to cut production emissions by 2030 - this off course applies to Kraken.
Therefore, AB will need to show these plans for the Government's new audit by 2023.
If AB goes all out to electrify AK then its a pretty fair bet that he has plans to develop Bressay and maybe Bentley as well.

Yes, an interesting thought Carrington - M&S certainly seem to be grabbing the headlines, while Next have been rather quite.

Anyway, market conditions look good for both companies - especially online, and M&S.com is improving all the time.

I do wonder if we are approaching the point where Eqtec will become an acquisition for a much larger player.

There are so many business opportunities out there now for Eqtec's tech, that the company just cannot handle them all, simply because it hasn't got the financial resources or the man power.

The potential for a large player to develop what Eqtec has created must be enormous.

All UK firms are tasked to showing how they will hit net zero by 2050 - plans are expected by 2023.

Putting aside the environmental considerations, the main implications of this for all Enquest shareholders is that we will get much more clarity of AB's plans for the future, that will enable us to make a better judgement on our investment here.

It is of course a big headache for AB, but getting it right could open the door for new institutional investment to flow back in.
