I don't think a 15 day downtime deserves an RNS - unless there was a major problem that was going to take much longer to fix - it would just kill the SP - it also sets a precedent.

The main thing is that the maintenance is now completed.
Its much better to complete it now ahead of the winter storms.

It seems like 2 weeks downtime - not good - but if the maintenance results in a rise in production, the shortfall can probably be made up if the weather is kind over the winter.
However, with the spotlight on production after the last update, production from other sources will need to be good or the SP will be under short term pressure.

UK Bus Operators are certainly looking keen to use hydrogen buses - that bodes well for the future.

With fuel costs and subsidies being such as huge factor regarding their profitability this is certainly an area where Government and Local Authorities can guide operators towards the best green option - hydrogen produced in the UK from renewables.

There is absolutely no reason why every new bus that enters service in the UK shouldn't be a hydrogen powered bus within the next five years.

The fall with profit taking usually comes the day after a big trading update hike - maybe this re-rate is being held up by institutional buying, and a lot of it will stick.

Talking of buses, did anyone notice that Go-Ahead are to start using hydrogen powered buses in Ceres back yard - no Ceres involvement as far as I can see, but certainly an interesting development. The first route, using their rapid Fastway network - dedicated bus lanes between Crawley and Gatwick - is very important to the company.

It seems very likely that things have moved on with the Weichai partnership but not necessarily with the initial project involving using fuel cells for buses.

Weichai is a Chinese state owned company so is likely to be very bureaucratic, hence the lack of info flowing from them.

My guess is that we will eventually get an all or nothing RNS when the senior management at Weichai make decisions for future investment from their R&D pipeline.

Back from holiday and feeling very satisfied - Ocado's SP still looks like it is recovering well with plenty more good news to come that should push it back towards 2,000p and beyond - also M&S have smashed it - bodes well for the long term success of both companies and fully vindicates an investment in both.

Just returned from holiday and very happy with a much bigger gain in the last week than I dared hope for - I was expecting the good numbers but not the SP response - at this rate M&S will be back in the FTSE100 and paying dividends in no time.

Its interesting to note how some companies have bounded out of Covid all guns blazing and have been invigorated - M&S is a the prime example - lots more to come!

Great to come back from holiday and find that Enquest seems to have shot itself in the foot again.
Hopefully the issues with Kraken can quickly be resolved without denting projected production targets - there is always good leeway built in to allow for weather delays.

Yes, still lots to do - especially in the US, but it will work out in the end.

It will be much easier to achieve the transition if the companies than supply energy now make the transition to renewables.

The time frame has to allow them to remain profitable - high oil prices will be a great help in that goal and Government can help by manipulating taxes and giving support finance in favour of renewable investment to improve returns.

No one said it was going to be an easy transition, but it is necessary, and I think the oil majors realise that now - they are building expertise in renewables and will probably start to make acquisitions in the renewables sector over the next few years.

Most of the costs associated with renewables are the high capital costs - actual power generation costs are lower than fossil fuels.

The oil majors will attempt to change the sentiment as Shell boss Ben van Beurden said yesterday, they are the ones who have the capital and the expertise to make the transition to renewables - simply switch CAPEX to renewables as the market demands the change.
Smaller oil companies can also explore their options - Enquest with Sullom Voe for example.

If investors turn their backs on oil companies now it will be very counter productive.
