As you well know Fuad Sillem was the go to IR guy a few years ago but he just regurgitated GR's hype and I expect the same might be happening right now.

Well I am sure that puce faced Sir Korma and his sidekick shadow chancellor RR had a fit when they saw how little UK tax BP paid for 2022. I just loved it and the pair do not grasp the fact that investing large amounts in carbon capture and other green initiatives are tax deductible. Heaven help us if RR becomes chancellor but people should not be worried if they take good tax advice from a professional. My wife and I plan to rent our next house from a family trust being set up now for the benefit of our children and grandchildren.

I am a reasonably long term holder having got in at under £3 but will be hoping to take a few off the table in March to use CGT allowance for 2022/2023 Tax Year. Will probably put back enough in April from proceeds into my ISA.

Johnpwh...When you talk about the feckless in our society surely you cannot be referring to those in designer clothes and fake tans that turn up at the foodbanks and also expect a foreign holiday twice a year . You are right about Kestrel but I am pleased looking at the annual figures out this morning. Strong hold for me in my heavily weighted long term mining portfolio (RIO, ASX:TIE, ASX:LTR , ASX:MI6 and Ecora ).

We will get some idea of dividend payments for the year on the next declaration date of 7th Feb for payment on 31 March according to "Dividend max"

Maybe JT is selling more shares to fund his divorce settlement but it appears that 140 is the current limit.

With a 2022 high just north of 18p this has a lot of catching up to do. With the recent surge in the gold price this share should have performed much better so is the problem with the mining or management ?

I am sure that GR could post photos of the plant in South Africa and then a video of the same (in pieces) on its way over the border and on to site. Other companies manage to do this with huge ball mills and construction of mining camps.

MP....Totally agree with you and my wife has £900k in ISA's now with a couple of stonking gains in the resource sector over the years and I have a meagre £250k. We enjoy the tax free dividends and the lack of hassle .

Mr. Math , have you and wife both used up your ISA allowance for this tax year as well ? Nothing wrong with you both using £20k per annum annually.

When you see the response from that boring accountant Rachel Reeves today, omitting the fact that COVID and war in Ukraine has cost the UK hundreds of billions of £, you can be sure that many citizens will be off to friendly countries like Portugal and Spain to spend their retirement. Someone snaffled up 30,000 this morning which is encouraging. Would be even better if it was a director buy though.

Bought a further 4000 in my ISA as I had some cash from recent divis in other shares. Will continue to add at sub 160 when I can. Good luck to all long term holders here.

I lived in Jo'burg from 1974 t0 1976 and with my wife working for a bank as well.,we had an unbelievable lifestyle and had great holidays in Cape Town, Botswana and Rhodesia. I still return every other year to Cape Town but will probably stop soon.

I like the idea of over £5 having bought in considerably lower 18 months ago. Hoping that the lovely Angela, Rachel and other KS ladies are jumping up and down with indignation after those recent results. Too thick to realise that virtually every pension fund in the UK holds investments in BP and Shell.
