I remember many people saying the same thing (including myself) some time ago but , having looked into the legal obligations needed for ongoing alluvials production, it seems this is not the case. In simplistic terms the surface is sacrificed, ground into small particles and returned to the same area it was taken from
The displaced families that made way for the work to be carried out then return to their land which is now much more cultavatable as there are far fewer rocks and boulders, so the alluvial production is actually beneficial to the indigenous population.

When I comes to it, any rubble covering hard rock excavation targets can very easily be removed (because it is not a production target) and any alluvial work done above the hard rock target just makes it easier to remove the finings that are the by-products of the refining process.

So, yes refined surface tilth is better than boulders, but not a defining factor for enabling hard rock production.

Speaking of which, I certainly hope a definitive RNS is on its way with an update on the progress with initial hard rock production.

Before Christmas would be good for shareholder's morale.

Whilst the investor that stumped up £350k for the placing may be supportive of the company, it appears that Novum certainly isn't as it looks like they have sold half their warrant shares already?
We may have to wait for them to offload the other half before we see any explosion...

Not sure what reason there could be for the sudden movement - maybe news is on the way? - On the other hand, best not to hold your breath otherwise it wont just be the SP that has turned blue...

Explorator costs will inevitably increase with hard rock production and maybe Nexus would still be liable for half of them?

Maybe the imminent onset of hard rock operations will muddy the water, so to speak, and make the cost/benefit balance less attractive to an unwelcome third party?

That is what I thought, too

As Explorator gets the same share of the gold produced, regardless of the profit/loss made by Huafei then that should mean that we are now in a position to be turning a profit at corporate level rather than just an an operating level...That can only be good news :-)

Could that be the reason for CB's recent investment on the open market?

So XTR net income from alluvials has just doubled?

Because of all the website problems on LSE I was reduced to reading the ADVFN BB. I noticed there that a post mentioned that the recent placing was made by a single investor so I thought I would do a bit of research.

Turns out that it is in deed true - the entire placing was made by a single trade and the investor approached the company rather than the other way around (maybe that is why the placing fees were merely £20,000 - nice business if you can get it!).

Apparently the investor wanted to support the SP and the company. Of course that means that the investor will have to TR1 a 19% holding in the company after the shares are entered for trading, so most probably early Jan. -Unless of course the share-holding is broken up and passed on to other investors in the meant time?

I will be watching out for the January RNS with interest...

0.205p close so LSE considerably behind the ball on the SP front?
SP now higher than it was before the placing so maybe no resistance to realising the value created by the Mank deal?
If all goes well the Mank deal is worth a MC of about £17.5M, so even trading at a 50% discount , due to the uncertainty involved, the share should be on the region of 0.7p - but how long will it take to get there?

Lot's of questions and not a lot of answers at the moment. We will probably have to wait for the next update before we get a meaningful movement, one way or the other...

At long last the short term finance has been sorted, and for about 24% dilution.

We have known for a while that this was coming, so no surprise here. Could have been a lot worse. The sale of Mank is still massively accretive from this level and should help to underpin the SP?

JP is not the only one to have made a lot of money in SOU - nothing wrong with that in itself, that, after all, is why we all invest, what really rankles is when some make money at the expense of others that have been mislead or strung along - and I think there are many here that think they are the latter, so no wonder the tone of this BB is sinking into the doldrums...

I don't mean to be negative. This is a significant shareholding for me so I am just curious as to how the company has financed itself for less than £14K per month since June?

Of course, if the company has found a Tiger in its tank that will drive things forward, then that is fine by me because the latest deal looks to be massively accretive from the current SP for we PIs - currently worth up to 1p per share, excluding African plays.

I just want the company to publucally square the circle of finance...

CB's big £131.5K investment was first reported last December, but not sure if he paid for the shares then or in February when it was reported again on LSE?

Lets not forget that CB paid £131.5K for shares in February, and paid almost 3p each for them -so he needs the SP to recover big time if he hopes to make a profit...

Up until recently 500K buys were commonplace, but that's not to say that at least one of them today wasn't by CB - we should know one way or the other around 10.30 tomorrow morning.

Even so, H5O, that was an unexpected jump in SP? almost 12% up now...

No, 500K chunks are a bit rich for me at the moment, particularly as I am already happy with my holding level. However if it does prove to be CB today and he continues with this pattern for a little while longer, then maybe I will look at topping up...Again!

The problem with this share is that I fully expect it to re-rate at some point and when it does it is likely to move very fast - so I don't want to be caught with my pants down, but, at the same time, I don't want to become over-exposed just to find the cash is tied up for no reason.

Decisions, decisions...
