Communication and key man issues26 Mar 2019 16:51
I'm a new poster to the board, not an oil-guy. I've been following this board for a few months and want to thank the many who post really insightful, cogent thoughts and research. AMER is my biggest position and I'm in a 16.2p on average so today's SP move (an over-reaction, I think) was a little disappointing.Three points. (1) I do think there is a significant need to address consistency and clarity of RNS releases: LuckCounts makes some good points today on this and others have also done so of late. I guess the new IR guy will help here. I would like for instance to have a quarterly update which says what is happening (even if it's not very much) field-by-field. (2) The points recently made about AMER being exposed for a hostile, yet cheap, bid are even more relevant today as some (not all!) IIs and PIs may well be happy to settle for a lower take out. This is why communication is so important for a little company like this.(3) This I haven't seen raised before: Do we have a key man risk on Dr Wardle? Who is managing what in each field? I am a bit concerned (maybe wrongly so) that all things come back to JW. Can he really spread his considerable skills so thinly given that so much is going on? Which brings me back to point number (1): a clear update on each initiative with a timeline and (where necessary) variances from whatever was previously announced.Perhaps today isn't the best day for a first post: here comes the roasting....
