it wasn’t sentiment driven, it’s down because of the financial issues (and more), both cultural within the company and in real terms. a small portion of it is justifiable poor sentiment but to keep saying the only thing that has changed since the £2 offer is a bit of poor sentiment is laughable regardless of how many little **** lickers give you a thumbs up.

Last year this was the 10/10 at college who was smart, good at sports and never had a boyfriend, now shes got a drug problem and a kid with a guy who’s in prison. She might still be temping and you might have a good time but value changes.

It’s not weeks ago or last year though, it’s today and the price is currently 35p - and could be 25p (or less) on the day they walk away. 80-90p would be very generous. There are people here who would do backflips for 60p.

It was £1.60 a share just 5 months ago and since then they have said they will make 5% less profit than predicted.

I think the CEO is playing a somewhat dangerous game with accelerated store openings and acquisitions into a worsening economic outlook, however this is a global, multi-entity company, with multiple revue streams and who’s to say they aren’t getting good deals on long term leases and acquisitions because of the economic outlook, so could be a stroke of genius, time will tell. I have said before he’s going to go down as a genius or an idiot. Give this a year or two and at this price you could quite easily be looking at 2 possibly 3 x your money.

I’ve heard that they have now received an offer of £1.80, hence the 5% drop today.

Sidara might fancy their chances at taking 50% of the shares for 60p each, sacking the board and stripping the assets/contracts into their own company and just leave a debt ridden shell here. They could get 80% of what they want for the equivalent of 30p a share, put a few family members on the board with a nice fat salary doing very little until the administrators come in.

No you’re right Gonzo I’m on drugs, lots of em, that’s what got me really thinking… I was completely wrong, and the whole entire market is wrong, Ice et al have got this absolutely spot on. 35p a share but a £1.40 offer is absolutely nailed on, in fact it’s already been agreed, it’s just free money really but nobody can see it except these guys… but I see it too now, just buy, hold a week and make 5 times your money, I have just been over complicating things and I had forgotten just how generous and kind Saudis are, and the only reason for the opportunity was a little bit of poor sentiment.

Jim stop saying dumb things, just yesterday I was at the shop and the guy in front of me was buying a few bits, about £20 it came to, chucked the guy a 50 and said keep the change. Yeah no worries icecool you’re right that £1.40 is definitely coming buddy… the share price doesn’t matter at all and it doesn’t take into account anything to do with a business, it’s just a random number that’s made up. Sidara will definitely pay 5/6 times more than they need to, a bloke down the pub told me that his mate went to school with Saudi girl and told me that Saudis love to give money away for no reason, very generous people, just sit tight and wait for the cheque in the post.

It seems the wider market, investment bankers and institutional investors are currently unconvinced of the £1.40 target set by Dave (bricklayer), Steve (scaffolder) and Simon (shelf stacker) on LSE this week.

No, I’m saying if they obtain 50% of the shares via a direct offer to shareholders they can just replace the BOD and asset strip the company.

As I’ve said before, plenty of people would snap their hand off at 60p and be over the moon, regardless of the fantasy figures they put on here. Sidara don’t need to make everyone happy, they don’t even need to make the board happy, they just need to make 50% of shareholders happy. Everyone will be scrambling to get a feel of what that figure might be and maybe 60p might be a tad cheap but it’s nowhere near £1. The board already know this and are at an huge risk right now of a hostile takeover. I’m sure they would rather come to an agreement, particularly if it guarantees their jobs but Sidara aren’t a charity, they won’t pay £1 when they could pay 60p.

They were looking at accounts prepared by someone who was later forced to resign during to lack of qualifications do the job (and an investigation that uncovered they actually had a lot less revenue than expected).

At the end of the day there is

- the maximum price that Sidara are willing to pay

- the minimum price that the board are willing to accept

- the price that at least 50% of shareholders are willing to accept

- the current share price

Only one is known, one is impossible to know, and two may never be known.

Sidara come to the table with an offer and negotiate with the board. If they can agree on terms and price, the board will put the offer to a shareholder vote, with a recommendation to accept, and their rationale. If they can’t agree, either the board will still put the offer to a shareholder vote but with a recommendation to reject and why, or they will just reject the offer on behalf of shareholders, at which point Sidara can either bypass the board and put the offer to shareholders to vote, try to gain support from enough large holders to force a deal through, or walk away. Obviously the first one is better but at current prices Sidara might think they would be better off just putting a tender offer to existing holders. If the board won’t entertain anything below £1 (which may or may not be the case) they might feel that shareholders, having seen this drop to 22p) would be more than happy with 50-60p and would get enough votes to take control.

Yes James, it looks like the market isn’t yet convinced a £1-£1.40 offer is guaranteed and in the bag ,no matter how hard 2/3 posters on LSE say so.
