At the end of the day if you bought at £1 a share, didn’t look for 2 years and sold them for £1.20 you’ve still done better than any bank account. A shame to miss the opportunity to put the money in now at 76p but do you think people who bought Rolls Royce at £1.20 in early 2022 and still have them are crying about it going to 80p late 2022?

Retail been getting spanked, Greggs results show slow economy and it doesn’t translate well for JD to be honest… although this is a dog that’s being kicked whilst it’s already down. All of this was priced in back in January, the market is looking for any excuse to spook PIs at the moment whilst the funds take up large positions on the cheap.

If Sidara walk and this drops back to 20p you’ll be wondering why they didn’t raise at 30p when they had the chance.

A moderate placing now with large holders makes sense and would be win-win for them as it would lower their average whilst increasing exposure to any deal and also put the company in a stronger position to negotiate.

Maybe a quick placing now at 30p to be safe and whilst the price is still strong, rather than have to scramble for money in the low 20s or teens if Sidara walk away?

Refinancing talks suggests that they are not hopeful of agreeing a deal imo can see a 20% drop tomorrow back to low 30s (dyor)

these things can be a blessing in disguise… a bit of fear can be the kick up the **** some staff and managers need to smile more, work harder, tidy the shop, convert more sales etc. a bit less foot fall also means quicker service, a more relaxing shopping experience, more likely to look around and try things on, maybe spend more etc.

Don’t forget that they are not losing money, they made a small amount less than a high forecast. The worry is that trend will continue but there are many positives and negatives at play and impossible to guess how they will translate into numbers here and what impact they will actually have (eg. NI increase costs to JD vs More disposable income for target audience).

I remember how fast M&S recovered after the last big recession. You’d have thought people would have gone to Aldi to save money, instead they figured that if they couldn’t have a holiday they would at least eat nice food. You’d think people would quit smoking to save money, instead more people started smoking and smoking more because they were miserable. Not everything goes the way you’d first guess.

One thing for sure though, they are going to have to be careful on next forecast to save embarrassment again!

Could also have no offer or an offer of 35p but that doesn’t fit the narrative of the snake oil salesmen here.

No it’ll go towards the £1.40 but if my aunty had balls she would be my uncle… it’s currently 35p and currently there is no leaked offer of even 40p let alone £1.40.

Down again today but it’s alright; Dave, Yorkshire and Icecool have confirmed that it’s only sentiment and the real price believe it or not is actually £1.80 a share, you just can’t quite sell for that price yet.

You’re right guys, I have no answer to your monumental pile of indisputable evidence that the share price has gone from £2 to 34p because of sentiment. 🤣
