Poker - Archie intimated a return to dividend sooner rather than later - the market will focus on this and if there is no mention of a dividend being paid going forward it will imo be seen as negative - some of the drop in share price may be baked in but I suspect Blackrock are shorting on the basis of no dividend and future market conditions - time will tell of course - re PE - HAS to happen if this keeps falling - Apollo were reviewing at 240p in favourable market conditions, - the share is now trading around 35pct below that

JJ - I think the market will hammer the MKS share on results day if they do not bring back the dividend - the dividend would imo indicate that MKS has completed the turnaround - if not then it hasn't, that is how the market will see it

Constantly - it depends on if you are trading or investing, if you are trading then you would lose in general on the market atm including MKS unless you are shorting, on the other hand if you are investing you haven't lost anything until you have sold - personally I don't intend selling any MKS stock, I only intend adding - I am looking at 6 months to a year and will reinvest the dividend when it is announced back into MKS - if you are trading and losing money then you shouldn't be trading imo.

Great news Neil - the report confirms my thinking that the Marks demographic is more likely to cut down on going out for lunch and holidays than food - also I think MKS will gain market share on clothes as they are now pitched next to more upmarket brands like Hobbs, Seasalt etc on their website and as buyers scale down from higher end I think they will pick up growth here - in fact Barclays themselves said this in a buy note yesterday - re share still going down, symptomatic of the market right now - retail is unloved due to fuel rises/food rises et al - patience required and I will continue to add here on weakness - this is a marathon not a sprint.

My read on this Daily Mail story is positive going forward and to me it makes sense to purchase the remainder of Ocado at some point in the future - as an aside, I did a bit of research into Jaeger last night, looking at new stock coming onto the market - I must say the sales are impressive for stock priced at the higher end in a period of belt tightening - I am beginning to wonder about the possibilities here going forward - expansion of Jaeger into the US where Marilyn Monroe used to wear Jaeger back in the day (now there is an advertising winner if ever I saw one) - huge potential here me thinks

The bottom line here is that Marks are not fannying around when it comes to facilitating a requirement from the general public

Re fast fashion - I think that is why Marks took a stake in Nobody's Child who are big on recycling and being eco friendly - a shrewd move that I think will pay benefits going forward

Completely agree here with Chilting - markets have hammered companies on results days recently, not because their results are particularly bad but the market is looking beyond the results at the cost of living squeeze and all the crap that brings with it along with the Russia situation - having said all that I would agree Marks is absolutely undervalued - you are now starting to see undervalued UK stocks like Stagecoach for example being picked off due to ridiculous valuations, Marks I believe is in that category

I think it will be risk on today Chilting - both sides in this conflict now in a mess, Putin overplayed his hand and knows Ukraine will NEVER surrender - you are going to need half a million troops plus to get anywhere near controlling a country the size of Ukraine which Russia haven't got - Putin imo will settle for Ukraine never joining NATO and walk away convincing himself and the Russian people he has won to save face

Just added a small tranche here at 227p from my SGC sale today - if NEX bid again for SGC it will more than likely cause the share to drop again at which point I will add more - I like the company, like the management, like the plan going forward and like the planned return of the dividend -

Hi Poker, yes I know he has funds at his disposal but a default even though technical would have serious implications for Russia in terms of future borrowing - this combined with unrest in Russia and the fact that the invasion has not gone to plan - Ukraine, such a massive country with 200k troops , most military experts believe it would take a very long time to be overrun if ever - you can keep throwing money at something but only for so long before something has got to give -

Fair point JJ although I do believe the natives in Russia are getting a little too restless atm with the tanking of the Russian economy - Russia has a coupon to pay on sovereign bonds on the 16th March - no payment means a default, the first since 1917 - a default means economic isolation - a bankrupt country cannot sustain a war JJ
