I would disagree with that Peaky - Dividend resumption shows confidence in future trading - II's love that - debt largely irrelevant if under control which it is at NEX - This share is under control with strategic selling atm which is easy to do with no future announcements pending - I am continuing to add on weakness, will bank the dividend, reinvest it back into NEX and wait for recovery/takeover - I don't mind which - either way is a double bag as far as I am concerned - price target to do this for me is 250p -

Citigroup raises Direct Line to 'buy' (sell) - price target 188 (136) pence - Fill that gap to 170p baby

Makes no sense not to refinance in November, forward rates look like they are falling - Australia paused their rate rises today, BOE may follow suit, indeed we may have seen the peak in rates already, some lenders in the UK this morning reduced their rates by up to 0.3 bp- commodity inflation is well well down on its peak and this has to be factored in going forward - inflation figures out in the UK and the USA on Wed so we will have a better idea then where inflation is going - my guess is down - more funds will I think factor in dividend payments as a smooth over in a potential recessionary environment and I expect NEX to tick up pre divi on the 13th - lets see

DLG was trading intraday at around 225p at the height of covid when the search for a vaccine hadn't even been started with absolutely no prospect of a dividend at that time - it is now trading at around 40pct below that price with no immediate prospect of a dividend - are things REALLY that bad - I have took a position here at 140p and added at 134p and will continue to add if it falls further - it either recovers or gets taken out imo -

Never quite sure how a read across from Next impacts MKS - the last time I heard Next were not selling food - moreover the following comments from City analyst re clothes sales are interesting "However, Next has warned full price sales will fall this year and profits are set to drop 7.6% to £795 million. That suggests both growth and profits have peaked." - that to me suggests Next are losing market share to Marks on full price sales - time will tell but I will add on any more weakness

Dave Ward, the wannabee Scargill, telling his comrades who are on only 20pct of what he earns to go on strike and lose even more money so they can't pay the mortgages and bills - that in itself is grotesque - keep that red flag flying high, all the way to the dole queue - ffs wake up people

JJ - Marks HAVE to announce a dividend in May imo - a dividend would confirm the rebuild of the company is complete and satisfy the market in terms of its growth prospects going forward

All Marks had to do was return womanswear back to what it once was - eveything else they do is top notch - I have been adding all the way down here as I can see the transformation in womanswear - as can others - see article below - I am going to stick my neck out here and say that MKS will smash it when they announce their results in May and a dividend will returned and this will go back into the FTSE 100 -

A bus driver who is still working on the Birmingham Live website quoted the following "We should be accepting the pay offer and moving on with how to support our passengers better, reduce passenger frustration and therefore reduce negative behaviour towards us. -"I'm out there, during the strike, with passengers who are losing money, getting stressed and getting angrier with every day that passes. My colleagues have no idea how much worse they are making their job for when they get back - it won't be worth any pay rise!" - for me this gets settled pdq - no support from the general public is not a good luck for Unite or the strikers - lets see

Strikes were very successful at one point in the 70's when unions worked together to bring the country to its knees, transport strikes are not as relevant as they used to be as a lot of people now work from home, moreover the rail strike is now settled so no leverage for bus workers - Unite use profit as a dirty word, but the reality is businesses are run to make a profit, no profit means less expansion, less expansion means less jobs - Unite union leaders have a job and always will, yet they tell workers who are on 70pct less than they are to lose money on a daily basis so they can have their day in the sun - that in itself is abhorrent.

Mob rule now as the police called in to stop protesters from trying to stop buses leaving the depot - 235 drivers worked - 235 too many for some obviously - 14.3pct pay rise not enough and neither is a 33k salary for bus drivers - strike by all means but trying to stop people who need to pay mortgages and other bills is quite simply grotesque

The workers work hard and pay the taxes that fund the 10.1% 'freebie' rise, only fair that they get similar - I think you will find that most pensioners have worked since they were 14 or 15 and earned their 10.1pct - ie they have paid nic/tax etc so the pension has been earned not given for doing nothing - 14pct plus is not similar to 10.1pct either matey 10.2 is similar to 10.1 - 14.2 is around 30pct plus more

No leverage for the strikers if it is confirmed the rail strikes are over as people can just take the train instead of the bus as the alternative option - best to go back to work now and take the 14.4pct that the railworkers have accepted - otherwise public sentiment will see you as greedy ****ers
