As hur have not done any interviews with new bod...my suspicion is that they are the ones who would rather not... Not surprising.. Might be asked questions like what have you actually done for 6 months of salary?

urraca - i am not sure the bondholders could have forced a placing to pay themselves back. Who is going to buy placing shares if there is no work programme or indicators to drive the SP?

as such dilution is still very much on the cards. All we know is that there is not so much of a rush as the weather window deadline has been missed. We also know the stakeholders (bond holder?) were not busting a gut to fund any forward plans

hopefully the POO will continue to hold or even go up more - and the water cut will behave - these are the things that are really going to matter to shareholders

velastic - the MMs put it at £1.05 in order to attract buyers - often trying to sell goes to NT - knowing full well they would drop it later to scoop up the shares needed cheaper. Punters still got spiked - the difference is that the share is valued at less than last week.

tuan - i suspect after the wording on this rns - some maybe are questioning the benefits of staying in this share. we trade/invest to make money - we accept the risks in the expectation that good news will be rewarded. if this is how good news is communicated by the company then there are other shares that would seem more attractive. i don't think colin has done himself any favours with this today. seemingly happy to pump twitter just before director sells but negative when what could have been transformational news is released

jholder - i think you will find long term investors want a re-rate. A spike yes but to then stay up or at least stay significantly higher than we were. Traders of course would like a spike and drop to sell and then buy back lower.

the issue is that the share can quite easily fall back quickly and to a large extent. if we are going to do this then much better at a higher price

i am sure that the bondholders are feeling a bit more secure - the oil price is generating more cash and none of it would seemingly used to finance future program of work. so more chance of them recovering their outlay.

unfortunately that does not help the shareholders who would rather the cash was used to increase production both short term and long term.

Lovejoy – odx could have just linked to the tender details. They did not need to respond to shareholder speculation. They didn’t choose to respond to much of the negative speculation regarding director selling of shares?
They could have easily made some points clear by saying the contract is for a minimum of £50m to a maximum of £374m. As soon as a test has been chosen to be manufactured we will update the market

Regulator - the issue is that with that worded RNS there must be a doubt whether you will get £1.05 today.

computer - i agree on not liking mixed messages. ramping on twitter and then the wording on this rns.

regulator - the rns is clearly worded to address the speculation in my view.

i guess this rns is the disadvantage of a ceo who clearly reads twitter/ lse boards. if he had been unaware of us finding the tender the rns would not have been released.

pity as it seems a dampner. unfortunate and unfair as there is never any rns when negative speculation is abound.

i am not expecting CPR this week - more likely 2 weeks time. so my guess is the price this week will hover around where it currently is.

i still strongly suspect that the sandstones will be a substantial figure in the new CPR. they could then sell it as a conventional play - which presumably would be less risky for another partner...

the AM cost a lot of money - anyone know how much they would have had to pay to buy it outright? i always wondered how much more it would have been - but it would have then been an asset for the balance sheet. they should try and find a way to get more of their investment back on it

halifax is interesting - and will be a shame if it never gets explored because trice was greedy in trying to palm off GWA to spirit and keep the cherry for himself. i am not sure other companies would be that interested in frac basement after this. there should still be shed loads down there even with a downgrade

slift - i agree with you that the current bod have not done themselves any favours. they needed a firm plan and then go out and sell it. i suspect this may be the weakness of maris - no experience/contacts. whatever criticism i have of trice - he could get funding when needed. sell his dream.

interesting that the new set up doesn't seem to want to do any interviews either....head of investor relations must have a lot of spare time on his full salary

badger - i think it would be dangerous to assume anything with hur currently. whilst there could be production for the next 12 months - that doesnt mean the water cut wont have increased to the point where hur is no longer making a profit. hur needs the % of water cut and the POO to play ball.

Well trice was right about there being oil and commercial. It seems he was wrong on the water cut so was probably wrong on oil or where it was.

I have a feeling some of that oil will be returned in the next cpr but as conventional play in sandstone rather than frac basement...
This should possibly make it easier to attract a partner or funding..

The only question is if the current production will last long enough for the forward plan - if they ever decide what it is - to go ahead. Then will the forward plan last until the sandstone can be tapped..

twatcher - sentiment goes a lot further than you think. Sentiment has taken the market capital where it is and will take it further in my opinion. ultimately the contracts/numbers need to be there and one has been agreed with the government to supply whatever tests they need. there is no disputing that the lateral tests are the new weapon in the armoury and the government is pushing them - so this derisks odx. it is quite possible the money to be made will be made before the figures are announced - like in many shares. therefore waiting for the figures will probably be too late in my opinion.

twatcher - a pure manufacturing company lives or dies on orders - I agree. however the stock market is a different beast. Anyone who watches the market often sees that sentiment moves a share in one direction or the other much more than any "facts". sentiment is very much with the share and tom w article will have only put the fuel on the fire.

i am expecting a big surge tomorrow with speculation. However the MMs have been a bit of this transformational news and therefore will quite possibly try to put the brakes on so they dont get overexposed. I would not be surprised to see a spike on opening - where few can sell but buys are ok - followed by a drop to enable them to collect shares. ultimately it will depend on buying pressure and how many are willing to sell at a low SP - risky as it may not be possible to get back in in time should the contract figure come out this week..so after initial games there could/should be a significant rise.
