the issue is that the gov have already mentioned a pencil date of April to stop the issue of free tests. Added to colin saying that the gov contract is dead - i think anyone holding out for this is being very optimistic to say the least. they will aim to use up the stock they have . If they need more then they will probably go chinese again

odx need to get self test approval in uk and eu and start selling privately. i think the new variant will delay approvals until they know for sure any lft will detect .

the valuation of the company based on £374m from the gov has gone. the value will now depend on how well they can sell once approvals have come through

Pumpky - don't forget the gov paying ncyt what they owe them as well!

blu - i think the problem is that because the shareholder base is almost all retail...it will be impossible to get enough votes coordinated to get rid of him. I hardly think he would walk into another job considering his track record in the last 18 months.

so he will stay ....and i agree he is just trying to weather the storm - prob the reason behind new twitter identity.

brokestt - i think the gov just dont want to pay for our tests. they completely wasted tens of billions on test and trace - i don't know how you can even spend that amount and so now want to cut down on free tests - which are prob much more effective if people do regularly.

of course i do agree that the chinese tests we bought are not as good as the uk ones they could have had

There was always the danger that Colin would miss the boat if test no longer worked with new variants or a medicinal cure came ..or as happened Colin took so long that gov changed their policy on giving free tests out..which is what I think may be behind the loss of contract.

i think what he really means is that you should not question the font of all knowledge. pity that if those results were as he expected he did not give us a head up on the contract being expired!

i think the contract with dam was out of a bit of desperation - maybe colin didn't read it properly and had to go to the lawyers to find out what exclusive meant?

however can you imagine the effect on SP last week would have had if absolutely nothing in place, dam seem to be looking to expand and the pro test was never going to be a big seller. therefore i think it was a fairly decent move as odx can benefit from the exposure.

if he signs any sort of exclusive contract with dam for self test then they really should take his crayons away

going back to NCYT - they took a huge hit when gov refused to pay for orders...however they had already been putting plan b and c into action. calamity on the other hand just updated twitter handle...says it all really

comparison with NCYT is moot as totally different company...they cashed in on their contract (well some not paid by the gov ), approvals early and run like a proper multi hundred pound company. changed CEO and hired big shotters from multi billion pound companies as sales managers.

odx still stuck with calamity mumbling into his pay as you go phone.....with complete faith in wally will make you broke and a sales team out for lunch most days.

yes but with all respect we have not sought self test approval in usa...and i think we probably won't because we could not afford it other than a placing. not sure colin would be prepared to potentially put his job on the line for that. much better to hide behind his current strategy

NCYT have been able to put out yesterday that their pcr tests can detect new variant - we still have not had any lft tests do that and i suspect it will take a little longer.

the hope is lft will - otherwise we will have a lot more to worry about than ODX sp

some of the covid stocks have definitely put rns in a rose tint - this raises alarm bells just as much as colin's doom and gloom. just put the facts out and keep it neutral. market will decide
