I don't see how this bid is any improvement on Endeavours bid a few years ago when the price of gold was circa 25% lower than it is today.

If I'm not mistaken part of the DFS building costs for Dugbe included build a road to link the proposed mine up with a nearby highway route to the port.

Compare that to shipping parts and infrastructure to Mali and Guinea during sanctions and military coups.

That said, it means that any bidders for dugbe are unlikely to be Chinese imo

Liberia is probably one the safest and most accessible jurisdictions in all of West Africa. It has Developed civil infrastructure with highways and ports and is essentially a puppet government of the United States. They'll never be a coup in Liberia neither would Wagner supported Junta's backed by Putin would even dream of messing around in Liberia. Also the country's name literally translates as Liberty and the national flag is a star spangled banner.
