What has been the total dividend payout since IPO though, if you add the dividends back in what does that look like over the same period I wonder?

CEY are banking net profit of circa 50 million a quarter ATM.

Ashanti are offering a maximum 8.75 x earning multiple for a tier 1 asset, 500k a year and 13 million ounces plus cash and gold and as far as I'm aware that cash and gold isn't getting returned to shareholders so whatever they're making now it's gone if the deal goes through.

Mental to think that this went to nigh on 20 x times earnings after the failed endeavour bid a few years ago.

You're not voting for a cash offer avocet, you're voting to swap your cey shares for Ashanti shares. Cey shareholders will hold roughly 15% of the enlarged share issuance of Anglogold Ashanti. At the moment that's circa 156 rather than the 163 prescribed in the notification today.

Market has to find what that level is and unfortunately if too many Ashanti shareholders don't like it and sell up then it lowers the price and increases the risk of the deal failing.

Essentially and not n paper, I'm not suggesting for one second that players act like but someone could really short Ashanti to bash CEY, get the assets on the cheap and then break the group up by selling assets separately for much more, further down the line.

The offer equals roughly 134 dollars an ounce for total group level measured and indicated.

It's not really a lot for a producing tier one asset, it doesn't even come close to the top end of completed transactions in 2023
