You are talking about a perfect society that does not exist.
Talking of obligations, land tax.
You forget one very important part, much of the land of this country is owned and controlled by those in power, there will be no land tax.
Anyway do we really want to encourage intensive farming here? Is that really the best option?
The problem with this country is that people WANT cheap food, witness the demise of butchers, bakers, greengrocers etc, yes time plays a huge part as well with people's busy lifestyles, both partners working etc but if you want a quality piece of say pork your not going to get it from your local supermarket.
You mentioned Asia earlier, its the same with Clothes witness the success of Primark and the like, people want to spend £2 on a t-shirt....
But not me I hasten to add!
