I have plenty of AIM shares but I get to choose if, what & when to invest (and more importantly sell) whilst also maintaining a core of dividend paying "blue-chips"

Just seems daft that our sheep industry is on its knees and yet we're important Lamb from the other side of the planet!
Doesn't that seem odd to you?

From what I understand arable farming doesn't have that many issues, it's dairy/livestock that is really struggling but mainly through competition for cheap food.
I cannot believe is this day and age of global warming etc we are still importing lamb from New Zealand, how can that be aloud to happen?????

It's about time the world got together and looked at ways to try and put an end to starvation in the poorest parts of Africa.
Surely just sending grain or rice or whatever isn't the answer especially if western countries are going to struggle with supply.
I don't know the answers but couldn't desalination plants be built along coastal countries and turn vast areas of Somalia, Sudan etc into far more productive farming land? It'll cost a shed load of money but the issues are not going away.
I suppose the fact that many of these countries always seem to be in some sort of conflict doesn't help.
One of my "poor" farming friends will be telling me how little money he has then in the next breath talking about the latest six figure sports car he's test driven!

The British government should take this opportunity to set up a "new" British Gas and explore for oil & gas "onshore", it could then supply its own people with discounted petrol and heating.
It could start by exploring the millions of acres of desolate wasteland North of Carlisle!!!!!!

Most investors lose money because they panic during the falls or end up chasing rainbows.
Although I am down on much of my Lloyds holding (and many of my AIM holdings!) I will hold tight, collect the dividends and see what happens, I tend not to invest money that I will need in the foreseeable future!
