The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
Mapp - you honestly think the relative position of a bunch of celestial objects at the time of your birth determines your personality?!? What a gullible clown you are...
... but I would be so sceptical; I'm a typical Aquarian ;)
In terms of the deterioration of the BB I've seen similar on a few others as the share gains momentum and starts to gain visibility.
An influx of traders, rampers and derampers, those in a for a punt, newbies and trolls join, and very quickly, the expert knowledge being shared is buried amongst; excessive ramping & deramping and insults being traded between the two, newbie questions, bleating by those who thought they could increase their investment 100-fold overnight, and then there's the trolls: some subtle and some whose comments suggest they have more teeth than braincells.
I guess the above is a result of the success of GGP - it's a price to be paid... sadly.
I've only been investing for about 16 months so that makes me a newbie. However, I try to keep a low profile and I'm still learning about the AIM Wild West, MMs, Gold, mining etc so apologies that I bring little to the party other than a mildly amusing user name. I am grateful for the outstanding knowledge, analysis and comments shared by a number of posters on this BB.
GLA.
I couldn't buy in the 120s; had to wait until 131 for a little top up. Profit to be made.
Like BMN, GGP's fundamentals are sound. An abundance of gold and other precious metals discovered so far, and other sites to be further investigated but so far the indications are very positive. A fairly recent RNS was again very positive shortly followed by GGP being included in a junior gold ETF, resulting in a huge share purchase. The SP was already climbing at a reasonable rate, so this news in quick succession, combined with a general upward trend in the price of gold and a purchase to meet ETF requirements led to an even steeper SP climb. The inevitable has happened in that some people saw the spike coming and traded it, some LTH have made fortunes (purchased at sub 1p) and either top sliced or departed (I suspect 20p/25p were trigger points), price of gold has declined etc.
I remain comfortable: The gold hasn't gone away; the fundamentals remain unchanged.
You make a good point MU345 re vaccinations alongside antibody testing.
If the current antibodies remain for a finite amount of time, then I would assume the vaccination would also provide a time-bound immunity. Therefore, antibody testing would need to continue alongside and after vaccinations had taken place.
VanV would you mind sharing the name of hydrogen company you are looking at, please? I need to read more into ITM, PHE & PPS which I have heard being discussed.
DISCLAIMER: providing the name of any company is not investment advice. For tailored investment advice one should speak to an independent financial advisor with the appropriate accreditation. The value of your investments can rise and fall..................... etc
This could be playing the system but there is merit in this for all parties:
I thought I had covid back in March/April: 2 weeks of feeling under the weather, a very mild headache, felt like I'd had the carp kicked out of me, some loss of taste and smell, but no temperature, no cough. At the time, NHS (via 111 hotline) assessment was 'you don't have covid'.
Fast forward a 4 months I received an e-mail from NHS Blood UK (https://www.blood.co.uk/) seeking those who had had covid to donate convalescent plasma (containing their antibodies) for treatment of patients. I received this e-mail on a global distribution as I'm a blood donor. I filled in the application form stating whilst I genuinely believed I'd had covid, I couldn't prove it because I was never tested but was prepared to donate plasma if it was of the suitable standard. About a week later I went to hospital to provide a blood sample for testing, a week later I found out my antibody levels were high enough for use in treatment of patients, and another week later I donated a pint of plasma. Ideally they want me (and others) to donate every couple of weeks.
So, this may be an opportunity to get a test and become a plasma donor to treat those who are struck down with covid. Win/win I say.
I was invested in HUR until about an hour or so ago. I was tempted to sell after the spike last thing yesterday. It was well known the technical report was due today so the spike in price led me to believe there had been a leak (positive news), resulting in buying. However, instead of selling at a c15% profit I've just sold at 46% loss.
The fundamentals of the company were reported as sound. It was a cash generative company with manageable debt due to be paid off in a few years. However, the technical report released today is in many ways at odds with what we had been hearing from the company for some time - nowhere near as much oil as first thought. Sorry to talk about HUR on NANO's BB - hopefully, this explanation goes some way to defending Botbot's tip.
I was tempted to sell yesterday at a c15% profit - the only time I've not been in the red with HUR. However, knowing the technical report was due today I thought there had possibly been a leak; hence the buying. No idea what caused the spike but instead of a profit I've just sold on a 46% loss. I'm done with HUR.
Best wishes to you all.
Good point, Supervz. I missed out on a buying opportunity as not able to get to 'phone/computer this morning. HL is showing 148 to buy now so I won't bother for the benefit of 2p.
Am I missing something - what has caused the (so far) 13% increase in SP?
Char333, if I may - I don't know you and have no wish to offend you.
However, your comments seem to be wheeled out after anyone makes any positive comments about how they think the SP will recover to £14+ etc or recover soon etc, or how they think the dividend will be re-instated at a higher level etc.
As a consequence, you print the same lines/thoughts/message at least weekly, possibly more frequent (I haven't counted and have no wish to do so). I'm not aiming to censor you in any way, and you're of course entitled to post as often as you want, but maybe you don't need to respond as often with the same spiel - we are all aware of your thoughts on the matter. It appears to me its the frequency of your posting the same message that has attracted a negative response, not your actual message.
The proof lies in what happens in the future and you may well be proven right (hopefully not).
As stated, this is a genuine observation and not me intending to have a pop at you in any way.
Best wishes.
