It would be good to get a licencing deal with Novartis for use of pre|CISION in targetted radiotherapy, as Avacta did with POINT Biopharma, now Eli Lilly. Novartis and Eli Lilly are the two big players in that field and CC said that the old deal with POINT is still active with Lilly. Novartis wouldn't want to be left behind!

They'll have the PK data fairly early on but the efficacy data take a while to accumulate because, historically, it takes several doses of doxorubicin before tumor regression is seen and they are doing monitoring (inc. scans), every (from memory) 8 weeks.

What I'd really like to see is the trend of tumor sizes for the UPS patient and others rather than just snapshots but I guess that'll have to wait until a peer reviewed article is published.

How do you know it took 8 weeks? All we know is when the 3rd C1 patient was dosed and when the 3rd C2 patient HAD been dosed - when that patient was actually dosed was not stated and, more pertinently, we don't now when the SDMC had their review of C1 nor when the 1st C2 patient was dosed. Or do we? I must admit, I don't dip into the BB all that often now so may have missed something relevant here.

I have full confidence that AVA6000 will be very efficacious for certain cancers, specifically some STS sub-types, and I have full confidence that the pre|CISION platform performs as expected. What I don't know is the addressable market size for AVA6000 alone in these rare STS sub-types, nor how long it will take to get it on the market in a combination therapy for some of the more common and hence lucrative cancers, if at all. As regards pre|CISION, its application with different warheads against different cancers could explode. Could. Hopefully.

Well AVA6000 releases doxorubicin AT the site of the tumour whereas straight doxorubicin goes from the site of infusion to all parts of the body and interacts wherever it finds dividing cells (GI tract from mouth to intestines, hair follicles, bone marrow - everywhere where there are side effects) so the relative amounts of doxorubicin in the tumour from AVA6000 and from straight doxorubicin is a moot point until detailed comparative data are released.

But that's not the point. The point is that AVA6000 works (needing refinement in the dosing regimen and target cancers obviously) and - and this is the clear benefit at the moment - with far fewer and milder side effects.

Will be interesting to see whether they can get another UPS patient or two into the Q2W cohorts.

Thoughts on what Phase 1b and Phase 2 will look like, re number of patients in the cohorts and number of weeks in each phase, which will surely be much more predictable than open-ended Phase 1a?

I suppose you mean pre|CISION, which is the name of the technology platform, but no one will be taking that to market so I suppose you really mean AVA6000. Hands up who thinks Avacta will be taking AVA6000 all the way to market. ...Anyone?

Additionally, re: "There’s a considerably larger risk premium here than previously due to management and the company’s finances." It all depends whether the NEW management can repair the company's finances with a revenue-generating deal or two. The clinical development of AVA6000 and the proving of the pre|CISION platform will progress this year (it DOES work - does the market realise that?) so deals are more likely. Has the market factored that possibility/probability in? The market got it very wrong last year on the over-optimistic side. Who's to say which way the market will get it wrong this year.
