George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
The RW scenario was merely from coincidence and people being paranoid - it is still moored and the other two vessels are uninterested in the Bahamas.
Big Oil is the only one interested in the Bahamas and to date, they have failed to stop BPC. Lots of bluster and ammunition thrown our way. Not over yet of course, they have a few more spanners I am sure of that.
It would not surprise me if some mini oil slicks began to appear on the coastline. There will be dirty tricks.
Whilst we are spudding - we are not going to produce and that is a line written in the sand.
Harry - you may be right, however, I expected a good 10% post RNS at the very least.
...FFS - did the markets read the news?
...FFS - did the markets read the news?
I thought it quite telling that Minister Pintard stated they did not want 'this company doing it'. Implied to me they would be happy for another company - perhaps a super major - doing it instead.
We all have to take a deep breath and hope there is no last-minute delay and we manage to commence drilling and get an early hint as to what is under the seabed.
Stay safe ;@)
Whilst we have never been as close to drilling and potentially and hopefully finding oil - we must know that there are no guarantees here.
Look back several years and we saw (the much-reduced shares in issue) SP shoot up to 20 plus pence merely on rumour.
Fast forward to today and all expectations were we would be 6-12pps at spud. So much disappointment, of course, to be a lot less than earlier in the year with the IceMax on location. Who would have thought it.
For those about to order a new motor on the back of price on spud - it must be extremely annoying. I know I am disappointed.
I fear there are forces determined to stop BPC from drilling and up to now they have failed. We will know in the morning whether there has been a last-ditch change of plans. I have everything crossed.
Would these forces be able to stop drilling before oil shows? Who knows?
The lads and lasses on the drillship will be wanting a positive outcome the same as most here will.
There are no guarantees here folks - but if nothing else the ride has been interesting.
See you all tomorrow - figuratively speaking of course. Stay safe ;@)
I recall the many attempts at guessing the price at spud, let along all the guesstimates when the IceMax set sail.
It has become as odd as this year has been, nothing surprises me these days, other than having someone actually apologise when they bump into you.
Enjoy the weekend folks - I for one will try and keep off here as Monday will be manic. ;@)
David - it will be over 500 times that saying has been typed - However - at no other time have we had a drillship hired and very much en-route to the drill site.
These are extremely strange times for all invested in a frontier explorer - I do not recall any other company having the 5 hit show that we have had this year - whether it be covid, issues around: - funding, eia, contracts, more funding, environmental issues and a government who appear to want to backtrack on everything they voted for over the years.
Stay safe all - there is nothing more anyone can do to change what occurs this weekend - I am sure once the bell strikes 8am UK time on Monday we will have a better idea.
I am sure we will have new posters incoming and some fantastic insights into the world of investing, oil companies, legal and environmental issues etc.
Enjoy the last weekend before the fat fella comes and empties his sack in everyone's homes - like the majority here, he has a lot of stamina - and we all must believe otherwise it might be coal for us all. ;@)
Just back in and I see there are many posts which I cannot be boshed to read through.
Why is the IceMax's destination showing as Nassau? It is not the southernmost point in the Bahamas which makes me put the question - looking at the Marine Traffic site, it does not appear to be heading to Nassau.
Thanks in advance - cannot believe my portfolio is down again today - c'est la vie.
Have a great weekend folks and stay safe ;@)
the link when sent showed a vessel from the south pointing approx 2pm if you looked as a clockface. Within a couple of minutes of posting it has gone. The Clearwater was there and still is.

That comment appears to me so cringeworthy an attempt to speak with a Bahamian twang seems glaringly obvious - OR - is it?

Sorry not me Monkfish457 - bynari may have an account as was great at plotting the IM to where it is now - it is a bit of a busy traffic lane so unsure we would have someone making preparations at this time. It will take a day or so to get there and nothing seems to have changed off the coast of Freeport.
You want to try a sophisticated drink like a RENTON
A raffle !!! One of the worst forms of gambling next to bingo.
Wouldn't catch me gambling - not even on a raffle!!!! ;@)
are you looking at the correct share? Lol
Can only see the Clearview oddly - that was via marinetraffic site 5 minutes ago
but on a bargain of a mere £98
I certainly read that as a decimal of pence 7.2p to 7.6p (Our ReNAV of ~7.20-7.60p per share)
