Blencowe Resources: Aspiring to become one of the largest graphite producers in the world. Watch the video here.
I am unsure they will need to. I think once it is on-site we would receive an RNS stating they are about to drill imminently.
They may decide it is newsworthy enough of course, however, most here have already made up their mind that the plan was to depart tomorrow.
Either way, I will have a look on here around 10am and see what the craic is.
Leaving the island shows intent rather than the current lack of certainty that seems to be clouding the plans.
I am sure there will be enough folk watching the Marine Tracker in order to ensure it is heading in the right direction. ;@)
I imagine there will be some excitement at the prospect of the IceMax commencing this important journey. (important for shareholders here)
If and it is a big IF that an RNS lands in the morning, I would doubt anyone would need informing that the ship has set sail as above.
Stay safe - tomorrow may be an exciting day with ups and downs ;@
...to give a good run for the IceMax? Or will everyone be glued to marine traffic for good measure?
I have noticed a number of tasty looking trades over the last couple of days so there is a curiosity in the air.
Wonder how soon after open tomorrow we will receive information of anyone taking up their offers.
Certainly an interesting 24hrs ahead.
3300 - not aimed at you - I make mention of new posters - perhaps I should have said new identities - going straight in for the personal attacks. We get lots of new posters who are genuinely asking for advice (though no one should rely on any advice from someone on an anonymous bulletin board) about the company or their slant on news.
There are, on the other hand, folk creating new identities merely to create unrest. That usually ends up with the BB so full of inane guff - a bit like this one. Stay safe ;@)
2nd paragraph in:-
Fred Smith QC, the Callenders & Co attorney and partner, who is representing the Our Islands, Our Future coalition in potentially imminent legal action to halt BPC’s planned exploratory drilling
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Potentially imminent - sounds like a quote from our own bod!! CPR imminent lol ;@)
So the legal action is not yet live according to this latest article - they are perhaps as has been stated earlier 'sabre rattling'
it seems they are using QC Smith's limited reputation to muster some encouragement to the fore.
"Nothing to see here, move along please."
...a handful of new names attempting to create waves - always a bit of a giggle to be fair. Straight in for the jugular with personal attacks and nothing new to say with regards to news, research or otherwise.
Play and stay safe folks -we will know more soooooooooooooooonnnnnn B ;@)
As for RW - there are so many drill ships and tankers at berth at Las Palmas it is anybody's guess why it is there. I think mere coincidence and if not for Mr Smith and his followers creating some noise, we would not have given a 2nd thought.
Google Search result for Greenpeace - Bahamas
https://www.greenpeace.org/usa/people-marched-ocean-world/grand-bahamas/
First point is single use plastic at Supermarkets
Second - Tell Congress We Want a Green Deal
Time to relax for now - Greta has apparently gone back to school to catch up on what she has been missing. I am sure she will return fighting, though I think for now the Bahamas is without such a big name.
The Forth and the DrillMax are berthed together now - perhaps there was no need to keep the IceMax in the port, having completed the testing and one would assume its refuelling. Pointless paying mooring fees if not required.
OR
There are last-minute changes to the scheduling.
We will know soon enough
There is a lot of bluster - and I am sure there will be some high profilers come out of the woodwork in support of the anti-drilling campaign.
The comment relating to the sale of the sands from the ocean was a surprise - is taking the natural environment - i.e. the sand from the seabed - going to destroy the natural habitat of the ocean's creatures? Yet little mentioned by the environmentalists - unless of course nobody realises it and it is done under the cover of darkness.
I wonder who is buying that lovely white sand.
Roll on Thursday - pity there was not a live webcam to follow on the Rainbow Warrior or more importantly the IceMax.
Having had a look at his Facebook page, he has been supporting the activists for a number of months. He has posted numerous times about BPC and potentially catastrophic impact - he gives no real new information and basically regurgitates historic information.
He, nor any of the other Facebook warriors make mention of the new measures that have been taken by explorers nor the technology to lower and limit things if it all went wrong.
His numerous posts about freedom, fair play and BPC get minimal interaction - sometimes a couple of likes and a couple of shares. Very few comments are added to his posts so it is therefore difficult to judge how popular/powerful he is.
For example, a post made 18th August: - "A spillage off of the coast of Andros or on any particular island in the northern Bahamas is not only going to affect the rest of The Bahamas because of the currents that we have, and the movement of the gulf stream and also the wind directions; all of this stuff is going to move south to all of the other islands of The Bahamas and also go north into the Gulf area, and into the coastal areas both east and west of Florida," Mr Darville continued."
Comes with an article from The Tribune headline 'Environmentalists urge reversal of oil explorer's licence extension'
That racked up 2 likes and one love with 3 internal shares. No comments.
22nd September - a post with a dramatic photo of Deepwater Horizon ablaze and the call to action 'Sign The Petition' racked up a total of 2 likes, one internal share and zero comment.
2 October - a post advertising a regular Friday phone in "Voice of the Bays Radio" entitled 'To Drill Or Not To Drill - Legal Recourse' racked up 11 comments not all supportive and 13 shares.
7 Oct - a link to another Tribune article http://www.tribune242.com/news/2020/oct/06/how-can-we-drill-oil/?news&fbclid=IwAR3tVfY-NHSUrfdRklyDZJbmzC8G_POAyWrhZ1bpPgpduP6ptz8Ewvfmv1A
*** Got to love the last few paragraphs where Bahamian National Trust and Bahamas Protected Areas Fund (BPAF) are making it certain that IF the drill goes ahead that they want some of the proceeds!!! ***
The post got 1 like.
7 Oct - another Tribine link entitled 'Activists not reassured by oil explorers pledge' managed 3 likes.
14th Oct - An open letter to Nassau Guardian regarding BPC received only 1 comment. 9 likes and a love - That one comment was interesting as it was asking ...whilst you are on about the environment "Has the taking of the sand from the Bahamas seafloor for so many years would have an impact now and years to come, one being a natural beauty that is being removed. Also sold without the Bahamians having no part of its profit by selling their sand."
30 October - a post featuring a youtube video Our Islands NOT their rocks - was basically hijacked by folk wanting to complain about illegal immigration.
He carries on once a week and gets little interaction. Though they have a Facebook page facebook.com/killthat
Completely Off-Topic - though in response to Zag's comments of the north.
Where I am from - not quite the north/north that is Northumberland, the lads and lasses would still be on the town in cap-sleeved t-shirts/smart shirts depending upon the size of one's biceps, and jeans for the lads, skimpiest of dresses for lasses, and towards the end of the night their high heels would be getting carried in their hands - no matter what the weather, snow, ice, wind or rain.
For visitors to the area - you will need your "big coats" !!
Sadly all the pubs are shut for now so these sights cannot be seen. Newcastle Quayside and city centre during the late-night economy is a sight to behold.
It is worth a visit for anyone complaining about being cold.
Tiburn - I would have thought zero to be paid back. That would come in the P&L statement and perhaps be part of the value of the asset going into the sales negotiations if they come around.
The $ spend of course is not just on the area of P1 - so other areas may be put up for sale if P1 is a success. Just my thoughts of course and nothing substantial.
...it is all becoming a little more interesting.
Speculation - Most folks on here are invested on a speculative drill - so another form of speculation follows suit - nothing surprising there.
Unknowns - lots of unknowns - most of them we don't even know we don't know. (not full plagiarism)
Knowns - there is a lot of stuff we know to be true, such as 3D seismic, Moyes Report and the like.
Traders - we know there are a number of traders making a few bob on the side of things. They will play the game to suit their stance.
Newbies - will come here asking questions whether they are newbies at all. Some will come back under another handle and attempt to destroy someone that has offered their own opinion.
Long termers - will often bite at the bait as above and respond accordingly. Some will regret falling for the bait.
Doubters - they come in the form of newbies and Long Termers when we hear some potentially devastating news - what we must realise of course goes back a couple of paragraphs = it is a speculative investment and as the adage goes - never invest what you cannot afford to lose.
We should have some news over the next couple of weeks - the drill-ship is due to set sail Thursday - there should be at least a whisper coming in relation to the recent attempt to cease operations. Santa will have stocked up on his face masks and new restrictions will be known about what folk can and cannot do over the Christmas celebrations.
In the meantime, I would suggest you all buckle up for an exciting 2 months or so as there will no doubt be some surprises ahead. Bye for now and stay safe ;@)
....
ShareScare - whilst we all enjoy a difference of opinion with a balance to people's differing knowledge/evidence influenced views - there comes a point when the views become repetitive without that - which usually means a ramp or a deramp.
We have had a lot of evidence-based posts where information has been sourced and referenced for the reader's benefit. On the other hand, there are a lot of posts which rely, in the main, on a personal opinion and are regurgitated frequently for nobody's benefit other than the unreferenced source.
We know there is a recent potential calamity in the fact a respected QC has thrown his weight behind a potential spanner in the works. The company has not as yet responded - other than perhaps their pre-emptive message within the RNS.
I am confident that there would have been some dialogue on the run up to the claim being put before the court - I doubt IMO that the claim came completely out of the blue.
The market responded quite well it seems after the initial shock, and again IMO that reaction does not suggest operations as planned have not been delayed for any length of time. Finally, merely a guess - the IceMax heading out for tests the other day may be a 2 fingered salute to those behind the claim before the court.
I am sure we will know soon enough whether my opinion is shot down in flames, and if it is I will stick my donkey's lugs on as I cannot bare my ar5e in Binn's window anymore.
If there is positivity - own it - but give us a rationale.
If there is negativity - own it and point to the evidence.
Stay safe all - I am not out of this over the weekend - I will find out soon whether it was a good idea. ;@)
....................."it is BPC which is moving prematurely to drill"
I would hate to think we were not delayed in the process of commencing to drill.
...is listed on ADVFN at 11:13:05 this morning when bid was 2.75 and offer at 2.8
I wonder if the other two will play along in a game of cat and mouse lol.
That 5,000,000 is showing on ADVFN as being timed at 09:03:34 yesterday - the bid being 2.65 and offer 2.75 - you will have to look on the historic trades for that time Keith
My thoughts in relation to the royalties - SP is offering royalties from production, however, renegotiating the percentages presently would mean BPC will be the producer. I think the majority here were expecting a buyout or farm-in.
I imagine if either premise were to occur there would need to be further negotiations which may be a stumbling block as to any potential deal being made.
